|After years of fluffing dusty fake branches, the idea of a real tree may sound refreshing. And for families with kids, the experience of visiting a Christmas tree farm is often a highlight of the season!
If putting up a real Christmas tree is on your Christmas list, then this post is for you.

9 Wabash Valley and Terre Haute Christmas Tree Farms
Canal Tree Farm. They say this, “We sell pre-cut & cut your own trees. Wreaths, porch pots and other decorations are available. We’re located at 5600 S Frye Street, TH (Riley).”
Holiday Hill Christmas Tree Farm in Terre Haute. Open rain or shine. 3021 E. Feree Drive, Terre Haute. Cash or check only. They have “choose and cut” trees from 4′ to 11′ tall and pre-cut Scotch Pine and Frasier Fir trees 5-15′ tall.
Jolly Pines Christmas Tree Farm. This farm in West Terre Haute has trees that are still growing! They say this: The start of our 2023 Tree season begins! We have a limited amount of trees this year, so if you are able, this weekend would be a great time to grab your tree! If your not ready to put it up yet, you can still pick it out and make a fresh cut off the bottom of the trunk when you are ready to let it soak up some water. These trees were cut this week and are soooo fresh!
Trinity Tree Farm at 10860 Hutchinson Road in West Terre Haute. Find more info via their facebook page. Choose & harvest Christmas trees. Country Christmas shop and children’s petting zoo.
Star Tree Farm at 1051 Gannon Road in West Terre Haute. Although they don’t appear to have an official facebook page or website, you may be able to find more info here. You can read stories in this Trib Star article from 2018. They typically sell wreaths, trees, and garlands.
Schmitt Family Tree Farm. 15010 E. 700th Rd, Paris, IL 61944. Located one mile south of Paris on 700th Rd between Route 1 and Lower Terre Haute Road. 32 miles from Terre Haute in Paris, IL.
Dahnke’s Pine Patch is a family owned Christmas Tree Farm located between Marshall, IL and Martinsville, IL on US Hwy 40. A family-owned Christmas tree farm located on 20 acres in East Central Illinois on US HWY 40, east of Martinsville, IL. They offer families from the surrounding counties fresh Christmas trees and evergreen by-products and a day worth of family fun inside “the farm” with inflatables, a holiday train, and reindeer. 29 miles from Terre Haute at 13825 N. 1030 street in Martinsville, Illinois.
Snowy Pines Christmas Tree Farm. 46 miles from Terre Haute at 1375 N US Highway 231 in Greencastle, Indiana. Hot chocolate, carols, cookies, and more.
Sugar Ridge Pines in Centerpoint, IN. They will have both “you cut” trees and Fraser fir trees. They will have decorated and undecorated wreaths as well. They accept cash, check, and credit card. Cookies and hot chocolate will be available. Due to covid-19 Santa will not be visiting the farm this year. Saturday 9-5. Sunday 1-5. Weekdays after 3:30. You can also call for other availability if those times don’t work for you!
The Apple House in Terre Haute. No u-pick options. Trees are cut, pre-drilled, and netted with the option to have your tree delivered and set up in your home.
CLOSED INDEFINITELY. Tucker’s Tree Farm. 71 miles from Terre Haute at 12255 N County Road 020 E. Mattoon, Illinois. Tucker’s Tree Farm CLOSED in 2019.
