June 2-28. Ninja classes at the Vigo County YMCA.

Tuesday, June 10-Thursday, June 12. CLUE Escape Room at the West VCPL. Ages 12 & Up: A crime has been committed—and it’s up to you to solve it! Step into Mr. Boddy’s mansion for a real-life version of the classic mystery game Clue. Search for clues, question suspects, and use your detective skills to discover who killed Mr. Boddy before time runs out. Participants are encouraged to dress as their favorite Clue character.

Wednesday, June 11. Cooking Basics for Young Adults at VCPL 12 Points. Ages 14–19: Ready to start cooking but not sure where to begin? Join Gail Wright from Purdue Extension for a hands-on introduction to kitchen basics. Learn how to boil water, prep ingredients, follow simple recipes, and make healthy meals from scratch. This session covers essential skills every beginner cook should know, whether you’re preparing to cook at home or getting ready for life on your own.

Wednesday, June 11. Preschool storytime at VCPL 12 Points. Ages 3–5: Get your preschooler ready for the next big step in their education journey with Preschool Storytime. At Preschool Storytime, your child can practice their listening skills, develop their vocabulary, improve their motor skills with songs, dance, stories, and more.

Thursday, June 12. Sweet Reads Book Club: The Handmaid’s Tale at The Magpie’s Nest hosted with the VCPL. Offred lives as a Handmaid in the Republic of Gilead, where women are stripped of their names, rights, and families. Assigned to a high-ranking Commander, her sole duty is to bear children in a rigid regime. Constantly watched and silenced, she must navigate a world of fear, ritual, and control. Yet beneath her quiet obedience, Offred holds tightly to memory, desire, and small acts of defiance that keep her sense of self alive in Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale. Thursday, June 12. Dedication of “A View from the Porch” at Deming Park. Join us in welcoming a new sculpture honoring and celebrating the Lost Creek Settlement! Join artist Reinaldo Correa Diaz, Lost Creek Descendants, and Art Spaces, Inc. in dedicating the public sculpture, “A View from the Porch” which honors, celebrates, and brings awareness to the Lost Creek Settlement. The program will begin at 5:15pm at Deming Park just past the stone bridge and before the large pond.
This event is free and open to the public.

Thursday, June 12. Styrofoam Printmaking for Teens at VCPL 12 Points. Ages 13-18: Discover the art of printmaking by creating your own monoprint using Styrofoam. Start by drawing an image on paper, then transfer it onto a Styrofoam sheet by tracing it with a pen. Once your design is ready, roll on some ink and press it onto paper to reveal your finished print. This hands-on project is a great introduction to printmaking techniques and a fun way to turn a simple sketch into a bold piece of art.

Thursday, June 12. Pokemon Creation at VCPL Main. Ages 6–15: Who’s that Pokémon? You decide at Pokémon Creation! Use a premade template to design a unique Pokémon, complete with stats, special moves, type, description, region, and even a custom evolution line.

Friday, June 13. Friends of Dorothy Trivia Night at The Magpie’s Nest.  6:00 PM. $20 per team (pay at the door). Hosted by Casey Chatham. With special appearances by Ruby Lockheart & Alora La Bella.
Grab your smartest friends (and your sparkliest heels), and join us for a magical night! Costumes, teams, and Dorothy fans encouraged.

Friday, June 13. 3d print night at WEST VCPL. All Ages: Learn how to take your ideas from concept to creation at 3D Print Night! At this interactive demonstration of the West Branch Library’s 3D printer, you’ll journey through every phase of designing a print—from the inception of an idea to a polished product.

Friday, June 13. Colors of Creativity: Sublimation Workshop at VCPL Main. Ages 13 & Up: At Colors of Creativity, you will design a simple graphic, print it on Haute Create’s sublimation printer, and transfer it onto a sublimation blank using a heat press. Bring your own fabric item to print on and discover how easy and affordable it can be to make personalized items. Items that are 100% polyester work best, but you can also use 60% or greater polyester blend fabric.

Terre Haute’s Largest Juneteenth Celebration. “Due to the impeding rainstorm this Saturday we are postponing the Juneteenth festivities to next Saturday June 21st. Please share so all are aware.” Saturday, June 14. 12pm-5pm.Juneteenth honors the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in the United States. The name “Juneteenth” is a blend of two words: “June” and “nineteenth.” It’s believed to be the oldest African-American holiday, with annual celebrations on June 19th in different parts of the country dating back to 1866.

Monday, June 16. Family Fun Days at Fowler Park. Join the VCPRD for a day of family fun! Bring your family out to Fowler Park’s Shelter A field to participate in your own mini family games against each other or friends. There will be kayaking, yard games, soccer, volleyball, cornhole, popsicles and more! All activities are free for you and your family to enjoy.

Monday, June 16. Read to Rover at the WEST VCPL. All Ages: Share a book with a furry friend from Love on a Leash. These good-natured therapy dogs are eager to listen to your child practice reading aloud in a stress-free setting, complete with cuddles, belly rubs, and ear scratches!

Monday, June 16. Young Yarners at VCPL Main. Ages 8-12: Your child can learn to crochet in this hands-on 8-week series! Each week builds a new skill, from holding a hook and yarn to making stitches like single, double, and triple crochet. Practice through creative activities and work toward a final project—a colorful granny square. At the end of the sessions, all the squares will be joined to make a cozy community blanket!

Tuesday, June 17. Customize It! Screen Printing Workshop at VCPL Main. Ages 13 & Up: Discover how screen printing works, explore ways to personalize everyday items, and leave with a custom piece you made yourself at Customize It! Design a custom stencil using a Cricut cutting machine then use that stencil to screen print onto a zipper pouch or small bag. All materials will be provided.

Wednesday, June 18.Sacred Colors: Mandala Art for Mindfulness at VCPL Main. Explore a calming approach to creativity in this meditative workshop led by Anna Bychkova, a certified art therapist from Ukraine with a master’s degree in psychology. Participants will use yarn to create personal mandalas, focusing on self-expression, emotional balance, and confidence-building. The session blends simple crafting techniques with therapeutic concepts to support emotional well-being.

Wednesday, June 18. Lego Lab at VCPL Main. Ages 8–12: Is your child up for a new Lego® challenge? At the Lego® Lab Challenge Series, your child can complete monthly builds with the help of their teammates, solve unusual problems, and experiment with new designs while improving their spatial awareness, self-confidence, and concentration.

Wednesday, June 18. Silly Safaris at the Brazil Public Library. Silly Safaris will bring examples of the “Colors of Nature” during this interactive, live animal show. You never know what they will bring!

Friday, June 20. Curious Kids: Fresco Painting with Oobleck. Ages 6-12: Can art last for thousands of years? Your child can find out at Curious Kids: Fresco Painting with Oobleck! Mix cornstarch and water to make a gooey surface, then paint on it while it’s still wet. See how the paint sinks in, just like in authentic frescoes, compare your child’s results with paint on damp paper, and explore why ancient artists’ works have lasted so long at VCPL Main.

Friday, June 20. That’s What Teens Say. That’s What Teens Say is a transformative 3-day program designed to empower teen girls (ages 13-18) by helping them build confidence, develop writing and public speaking skills, and share their personal stories on stage. This unique program is perfect for students who love to write, want to improve their communication skills, or have a powerful message to share. It’s a chance for them to step into their voice, be heard, and inspire others!

Through studying the inside of the accordion and understanding how it’s made, students will begin to pose questions, make observations as to how a musical instrument is designed effects the sound it makes and how the sounds are made. Students will then develop a physical model of their own instrument to investigate how the shape of their design affects its music-making capabilities.

Wednesday, June 25. Community Health Fair at VCPL 12 Points. Access expert care and essential resources at the Community Health Fair. The Union Hospital Family Medicine Residency program will provide family physicians, a psychologist, a respiratory therapist, and other specialists offering free medical screening and basic care. Additionally, other local organizations will be on hand to provide immunizations, dental exams and referrals, hygiene kits and seasonal need items, food education, Medicaid enrollment assistance, distribution of Narcan, and more.

Thursday, June 26. Photo Magic at VCPL 12 Points. Ages 14 & Up: Learn how to turn your favorite phone photos into canvas art using Mod Podge transfer techniques. Photo Magic will guide you through the steps of applying printed images to canvas, creating a personalized piece of art to take home. All supplies, including canvas and materials, will be provided. Email your chosen photo to cward@vigolibrary.org before the class so that prints can be prepared in advance. Finished canvases will need to dry at home.

Thursday, June 26. Libratory at West VCPL. Ages 6–11: Do you have a budding artist or a mad scientist whose creativity is waiting to be unleashed? Stop by the Libratory and get ready to experiment! Libratory takes ideas from some of your children’s favorite stories and turns them into concepts that they can experience hands-on. Your child might program a robot, help create and implement a plan to harvest rainwater for West Branch Library’s garden, or create an artistic masterpiece! Each session is a chance to engineer, create, and play. Some projects may take place over multiple sessions.

Saturday, June 28. National Road Heritage Trail Bike Ride in Vigo County. This is the 3rd in the series of 6 monthly bike rides in 2025 by NRHT, Inc. to explore open sections of the cross-state National Road Heritage Trail. The 25-mile June ride will include Terre Haute’s National Road Heritage Trail & connectors and Vigo County’s scenic causeway trail to West Terre Haute and packed stone Wabashiki Trail.

June 28-29. Covered Bridge Antique Power Club Tractor Drive. Tour beautiful, historic Parke County! All tractors (old and new) and license drivers welcome. Travel through covered bridges and beautiful countryside. This tour takes drivers and passengers through our county’s historic covered bridges that are at the core of Parke County’s tourism, culture and identity.

Saturday, June 28. Mud Day hosted by VCPL. Ages 3-12: Dig, splash, and play in the mud with toys, dinosaurs, and more on Mud Day! Your children can connect with nature, forget about screens, and discover the fun in getting dirty as they make mud pies and explore with their hands. Kiddie pools with mud with be available for little ones.

Monday, June 30. Free Showing of An American Tail at the Moonlite Drive-In Theater.

Monday, June 30. Board Game Design Night at WEST VCPL. Ages 6 & Up: Got an idea for a board game? Learn how to bring it to life! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore why people play games, build a prototype using game pieces and household materials, and test your ideas with others. Bring your own supplies or use bits provided by The Game Crafter. A published game designer will be on hand to answer questions.

Do you not have the time to stay? Stop by the 12 Points Library and pick up a crossword puzzle to take home!

Monday, June 2. Summer Craft Night: Yarn Cactus at the CLINTON Public Library. Open to all ages! FREE! Turn yarn pom-poms into tiny cactus! Craft supplies will be available from 6-7:30pm.

Tuesday, June 3. Science in Color at the SULLIVAN County Public Library. Science experiments, color, and fun!

Tuesday, June 3. FREE showing of Grease at the Moonlite Drive-in Theatre. Gates will open at 8:30pm and the show will start at 9:30pm.

Tuesday, June 3.Bilingual storytime at VCPL 12 Points. Ages 3–5: Parlez-vous français? You and your little one will enjoy exploring a new language at L’heure du Conte! Learn about French culture and language through songs, nursery rhymes, books, games, activities, and stories.

Tuesday, June 3.The Fantastic Art Book Club at VCPL Main. Ages 7–12: Tiger Brooks decides to investigate the mysterious house next door, along with his new upstairs neighbor, Luna Lopez. Inside, they find Viola Dots, a reclusive painter, and the golden Fantastic Frame that pulls them into Henri Rousseau’s painting Tiger in a Tropical Storm. Now they have to find Viola’s missing son David, dodge dangerous animals, survive unpredictable storms, and escape the painting before they’re stuck inside it forever.

Wednesday, June 4. Professor Steve at the BRAZIL Public Library. Professor Steve takes you on an excellent adventure as he talks about his favorite subject (himself). Professor Steve has dreams. You have dreams. Let’s learn how science allows us to make those dreams come true. Join us for loads of science, lots of interactive experiments, and fun for all ages.

Wednesday, June 4. Glue Stained Glass at VCPL Main Teen Space. Ages 12-18: Create your own stained glass-style art using Elmer’s glue and paint. At Glue Stained Glass, you’ll design a colorful pattern, outline it with glue, and fill it in with vibrant paint to mimic the look of real stained glass. Once it dries, you’ll have a framed piece to take home and hang in a window or on a wall. No glass cutting required—just creativity!

Thursday, June 5. Art Smart at West VCPL. Ages 6-12: Travel back in time with your child to ancient Western civilizations and create modern interpretations of their art. At Art Smart, your child will design and decorate a life-size sarcophagus fit for an Egyptian pharaoh.

Thursday, June 5. Comic Book Art at the CLINTON public library. Author and Illustrator, Cameron Belt will be visiting the library and sharing his knowledge about Picture Book and Comic Book Art. Create your own story or comic book during this program to take home!

June 5-July 10. Summer volleyball league at the Vigo County YMCA.

Friday, June 6. Erasure Poetry at VCPL 12 Points. Try a new form of creative expression at Erasure Poetry. Use a marker to redact a printed page, revealing only the words that speak to you and shape a unique poem. No writing experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to play with language.

Friday, June 6. Rosedale Strawberry Festival. The Rosedale Strawberry Festival returns June 6–8, 2025, with three full days of family fun, delicious food, local vendors, live music, a car show, pet parade, pageants, strawberry bake-off, and more!

Friday, June 6.Curious Kids: Marker Ink Chromatography at VCPL Main. Ages 6-12: What colors are used to make purple or green? Your child can find out for themselves at Curious Kids: Marker Ink Chromatography. Use coffee filters and water to break marker inks into their individual components, discover what capillary action is, and explore how colors travel through paper in this hands-on experiment that turns simple supplies into a colorful science lesson.

Friday, June 6. First Friday Open Studios. Every first Friday between May and October 12 points district is the place to be! After you patronize the restaurants, vendors and shops along the sidewalk, find our purple door and come upstairs to visit the artist of the “Upstairs at the Gosnell”!

Friday, June 6. Terre Haute Museum Member Day at Holiday World. $55 includes rides, all-you-can-eat lunch, “Science of Roller Coaster” presentation.

Monday, June 9. Art of the Wild: Animal Colors Quest with Animal Tales at the West Vigo Community Center hosted by the VCPL. Ages 8-12: Many animals use colorful fur, feathers, and scales to warn off predators, hide from prey, and communicate messages! At Art of the Wild, your family will meet six wild ambassadors and discover how their unique colors help them survive, adapt, and thrive in their natural environments.

Monday, June 9. The 2025 Race It up! Kids Running Program will run from June 9 — 30, with the first session on Monday, June 9. Kids Running Program meets Mondays and Thursdays, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Lions 3 Shelter in Deming Park. Participants will then run in The Mile which will be held July 4. The Kids Running Program is FREE to 4-13 year olds.

Tuesday, June 10. Sew Simple: Tote-ally Awesome Book Bags at VCPL Main. Ages 13 & Up: Learn how to sew your own book tote in this hands-on sewing program. Start with the basics, including how to thread a sewing machine and operate it safely. Then follow step-by-step instructions to cut fabric, stitch pieces together, and create a sturdy, stylish tote bag—perfect for carrying books and more. All materials and machines will be provided.

Tuesday, June 10. Animals Around the World at VCPL Main. Ages 6–15: Travel to deep, dark jungles, arid deserts, and even the frigid Arctic in search of reptilian, avian, and furry friends at Animals Around the World! In every session, your child will learn about a unique animal through stories and crafts—and may even get to meet the featured animal.
