Tuesday, February 21. Printing with Pancakes at Haute Create with the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 5 & Up: Design your own pancake with simple design software and then watch it print on the world’s first 3D food printer: ThePancakeBot®.
Wednesday, February 22. Books and Banter: Teen Book Club with the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 12–19: Are you reading something you love or looking for new suggestions? Do you want to tell everyone about your favorite book—or one you can’t stand? At Books & Banter, discuss what you’re reading now, what you want to read, and what you’d never read with other avid readers, regardless of whether you prefer novels, verse, fiction, non-fiction, manga, or graphic novels. Refreshments will be available.

Friday, February 24. Intentionally Black: Immersion of the Arts. Arts Illiana presents Intentionally Black: Immersion of the Arts—an evening of live painting and artwork by Jerome Goff and Michele Shauntee-Reeder, Poetry by Bryan Lipkins and Valerie Hart-Craig, and Jazz by timeless African-American artists. Kimberly McMurray, Arts Illiana Board Member, will emcee the event.
Saturday, February 25. Swope Art Museum Mardi Gras 2023. Please join us at the Swope Art Museum’s 15th Annual Mardi Gras Party at the Hulman Center Glass Pavilion on Saturday, February 25th 2023 from 8pm to midnight. Saturday, February 25. Winter sowing with reTHink. You will learn how to make your plant starters while also reducing waste! Join us while we learn to “winter sow” & YES you can start your garden outside in the winter using a mostly hands off method. We will provide the supplies and everyone who attends will leave with their own container of starts!

Wednesday, February 1. Process art for ages 2-5 at Maker’s Studio in 12 Points. Process Art is all about the making and doing, rather than the finished product. Each class is divided into 3 sections, I usually have 3 tables set up for invitations to play. We use cardboard, recyclables, play doh, sensory activities, painting, watercolors, glue sticks, pom poms, straws, wooden pieces, paper and so much more. I create invitations to explore, create and play and the kids have a blast!! Parents do stay for this class to watch and interact with your kids.
Wednesday, February 1. Mini Makers Studio Class. This class for ages 6-9 is process-based, meaning we focus on the making/doing rather than the end result. We will have an hour and a half to create, play, and have fun! We will be using watercolors, painting, chalk, print making, spin art, recycled art projects, self-portraits, sculpey projects, wood working and nature projects to just name a few. This is a drop off class.
Wednesday, February 1. Intro to Robotics at Haute Create at the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 15 & Up: Programming a robot might sound challenging—even intimidating—but it’s easier than you think! Discover CircuitPython, a beginner-friendly programming language that will allow you to turn on motors, direct movement, and even turn corners with a small robot. Robots provided by VCPL for demonstration purposes.
Wednesday, February 1. Indiana State University Speaker Series: Roxane Gay. Roxane Gay is an author and cultural critic whose writing is unmatched and widely revered. Her work garners international acclaim for its reflective, no-holds-barred exploration of feminism and social criticism. With a deft eye on modern culture, she brilliantly critiques its ebb and flow with both wit and ferocity.
Thursday, February 2. Lego Lab at the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 5-11: Challenge your child’s construction skills, teamwork abilities, and creativity at Lego® Lab! Every month, your child can attempt the monthly challenge’s theme or build their own designs. At the end of the evening, spend a few minutes touring everyone’s designs and learn how others solved problems in their own builds. Your child’s design will be part of a month-long display in Youth Services. Parents and caregivers with children under 9 should assist with building.
Thursday, February 2. Cranes Over Indiana at the Vigo County Public Library. Only fifteen species of cranes exist throughout the world. Of these, eleven are considered threatened or endangered due to habitat loss and unregulated hunting. Learn about the two crane species that live in or migrate through Indiana—the Whooping Crane and the Sandhill Crane—with the International Crane Foundation.
Friday, February 3. Galentine’s Canvas Night at the Red Barn. Welcome to the Galentines Canvas Party at the Red Barn at Sycamore Farms! Your ticket will include set up, teardown, supplies, instruction, and a complimentary glass of wine. Your canvas will be lightly traced to help you follow along.
Saturday, February 4. Kids’ Milkshake Sign at Maker’s Studio at 12 Points. This is a SWEET Valentine class perfect for kids ages 8 and up. All supplies including your 12″ MDF Milkshake board, paints and instruction. There will be a deadline to reserve your spot since I need to order and have shipped. Each milkshake is lasered to make it easy to paint. They can put these in their room to decorate on the wall or shelf.
Saturday, February 4. Buffalo Soldiers Winter Ride with Griffin Bike Park. Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department and Sundance Skills Clinics will be hosting a fundraising winter ride at Griffin Bike Park! Come out and shake off the winter rust.
Saturday, February 4.Valentine/Winter Vendor Event at The Meadows. Over 70 vendors inside the atrium selling a variety of items. Perfect time to get those Valentine gifts or start ahead for Birthdays and other events to come for 2023.

Saturday, February 4. Kids’ Valentine Workshop at Maker’s Studio 12 Points. This class is for kids ages 5-8 years. We will be exploring pops color with 2 Valentine projects! Kids will receive a “Valentine Goody” bag from me, drinks, popcorn and chocolate dipped pretzels. Class will start at noon so make sure you arrive 15 minutes prior if you can so we can have 2 full hours of FUN!
Saturday, February 4 and Sunday, February 5. Friends of the Library Book Sale. Shop for books, DVDs, CDs, and more at the Friends of the Library Book Sale. Thousands of items will be available at low prices, from current bestsellers to your favorite classics. Proceeds from your purchases will be used to fund Library programs and services you enjoy!
Sunday, February 5. Tie Dye at the District. This event will offer a LIVE demo from Laynee Campbell, owner of Salvaged Soul Boutique, where you will learn a few popular tie dye techniques, as well as a workshop where you can create your own tie dye masterpieces! So grab your friends, kids, and anyone you can think of that would enjoy tie dyeing with the District Team to benefit our local arts in the Wabash Valley.

Monday February 6 (and all Mondays in February). Secret Agent Science and Stories. Ages 5-11: Geronimo Stilton knows a good story when he hears one—he’s the publisher of The Rodent’s Gazette after all. When his younger sister Thea learns that a map is hidden behind Mouse Island’s most famous painting, it’s a race to discover the Mona Mouse’s secrets before a shady character discovers the code. Take a fabumouse trip through New Mouse City with the Stiltons as they try to crack The Mona Mouse Code and test out some hands-on secret agent science every Monday in February.

Tuesday, February 7. Push the Button: Teen Jackbox Party Game Night. Ages 12-19: Use your smartphone or tablet to prevent an alien invasion with Jackbox Games®’ Push the Button or pick another game from a Jackbox Party Game® pack! Jackbox Games® are multi-player games where you will work with others to solve puzzles, answer trivia questions, or create and define new words. If you don’t have a smart device, you can borrow one from the Teen Space to play.
Thursday, February 9. Max + Honey’s Galentine’s Day Floral Workshop. Gather your friends and join for a fun and creative Galentine’s Day outing! All materials will be provided for you to create your own fresh floral arrangement. Light refreshments included!
Thursday, February 9. Teen Board Game Night with the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 12-19: Challenge your friends to a favorite board game or a try new card game at Teen Board Game Night. Choose from Apples to Apples, Nertz, Phase 10, and more!
Thursday, February 9. Intro to Soldering: Valentine’s Edition. Ages 13 & Up: Soldering is a multi-purpose technique that will allow you to build electronics, make repairs, and create crafts! In Intro to Soldering, you will pick up this valuable skill and learn how to safely use the Haute Create soldering stations by making your own electronic valentine. Customers who wish to use the Haute Create soldering stations independently must complete this class.

Join for a night with your favorite little princess where she will get to visit the princess salon, decorate her own crown, see her favorite real life princesses, and so much more! February 10. FSA Fiesta: 160th Birthday Celebration. Happy 160th Birthday FSA Counseling Center! Over the last several years, our nonprofit organization has served the Wabash Valley and surrounding communities by providing accessible and affordable behavioral mental health services. From individual therapy, life skills, trauma debriefing, couples therapy and more – FSA Counseling Center is one of the oldest behavioral mental health nonprofits in the area! What better way to celebrate than with all of you!Join the birthday fiesta with a downtown party bus, salsa dancing, sangria, tacos and more – and help us serve the community for another 160 years!
Friday, February 10. Bridgerton Ball at the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 21 & Up: Your presence is formally requested at the Bridgerton Ball as a guest of Her Majesty the Queen for an evening of dance, drinks, and companionship. Arrive in your finest Regency-inspired garb or choose a complimentary masquerade mask to don, learn a modern twist on a historical dance, and enjoy music and photo opportunities while you wait for the arrival of the Queen. Will she select you as the diamond of the ball?
Appetizers, drinks, and a cash bar will be available. Costumes are recommended but not required. This program is presented in partnership with Federal Coffee, the Community Theater of Terre Haute, and The Dance Studio. There is no cost to attend this event.
Friday, February 10 and Saturday, February 11. Maple Ave United Methodist Church presents: A Family Reunion to Die For. Maple Avenue Theater proudly presents its annual murder mystery dinner theater. Tickets are $35 each and include dinner starting at 6:30 pm and show immediately following dinner. The dinner menu features roast pork, potato, salad, green beans, rolls, and a special dessert. Each lady will be presented with a flower and a complementary picture is provided for each couple/group. Join us for a fun evening and a hilarious murder mystery show!

Thursday, February 16. Time Traveler Tour: SMWC Conservatory of Music. Get a taste of the limelight at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College Conservatory of Music. Designed by Dietrich A. Bohlen & Son, the Italian Renaissance Revival style building with influences of the Beaux-Arts was constructed from 1911 to 1913. The details are nothing short of iconic, from its décor to the architectural engineering. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the complex building has held hundreds of musical and theater performances throughout the years and is currently undergoing renovations. Members will view behind-the-scenes locations and hear the efforts to preserve the building for years to come.

Thursday, February 16. Sew Simple: Coin Purse at Haute Create. Ages 13 & Up: Make your own repairs to clothing, create customized gifts, and save money with Sew Simple. Perfect for beginning or inexperienced sewers, Sew Simple will introduce you to the sewing machines available in Haute Create and teach you how to set up a machine for use. As part of the class, you will be able to create your own coin purse to attach to a backpack or lanyard.

Monday, February 20. President’s Day Skate at Wigwam Skate and Event Center. Tickets only $10 includes admission, skate rental, and all you can eat pizza.
Monday, February 20. Dublin Irish Dance at Hatfield Hall. WINGS is a brand new Irish dance production created in Ireland by a critically acclaimed artistic team. Like no other show in its genre, WINGS features exquisite Irish and World champion dancers together with Ireland’s finest musical and vocal virtuosos.
