As we know, most local events have been canceled for summer 2020 due to Covid-19. However, since firework shows are outdoors, several organizations will continue with their annual 4th of July fun. In this list, you’ll see what we’ve found so far for fireworks in Terre Haute and the Wabash Valley. Scroll to the bottom for a list of what we know to be canceled due to Covid.
Fourth of July Fireworks for Terre Haute and the Wabash Valley
The Bridge Church, Terre Haute, July 4
The Bridge at 1901 8th Ave. 6pm to dark. FREE cotton candy, blow ups, hot dogs, face painting, and fireworks!
Fairbanks Park, Terre Haute, July 4
Stage 5 Back on Track Indiana is effective July 4, 2020- Fully open with Social Distancing. The Terre Haute Police Department will be onsite to enforce all park rules and regulations. Rain date: July 5. Food vendors at 6 pm. Fireworks at approximately 10 pm. You can find more info here.
Moon Lite Drive-In Theater, Terre Haute, July 4
Fri, July 3rd & Sat, July 4th: “The Goonies” PG (1h 55m) Followed by:
“Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory” PG (1h 29m). Show time is 9:45 and gates open @ 7:45. Fireworks on Saturday before movie!
Forest Park, Brazil, IN, July 4
State Road 59 south of Brazil, 5 miles north of I-70. 10 pm. It’s all in the sky, and can be best seen from the east side of Forest Park, or on the Forest Park Golf Course, but you can also get a unique perspective by watching through the trees on the midway. If you watch it on the golf course, PLEASE STAY OFF THE GREENS, and take any trash you see with you when you leave. There will be a musical accompaniment to the fireworks heard in the park and on RADIOS on WAMB 106.9FM
Fourth of July Celebration, Casey, IL, July 4
Fireworks begin at dusk at Fairview Park. Remember that there is an hour time difference between Terre Haute and our nearby neighbors in Illinois.
Fireworks, West Union, IL, July 4
Due to Coronavirus, the park’s insurance does not allow us for any of the normal July activities at the park, except the fireworks. So there will be no food or drink, entertainment, or any other activities except the fireworks. Find out more info via the West Union 4th of July facebook page.
Sullivan Lake, July 4
Sullivan County Park and Lake is going full steam ahead with their “Fireworks Over the Lake Freedom Festival.” They have increased the show by adding an additional 54 shells to display. They will be shooting off 484 shells, 1,306 shots “cakes”, for a total of 1,790 aerial bursts. Fireworks will the night of the 4th of July beginning shortly after dusk. There will also be numerous food and flea market vendors, bounce inflatables, Party On Productions for the kids, a garden tractor pull, 50/50 drawings. decorated golf cart parade, an overweight horse pull, and music. Be watching for the official event schedule.
4th of July Celebration, Paris, IL, July 4
Join the Paris Park Board on Saturday July 4th at dusk for their annual Fireworks Show.
Rosedale American Legion, July 4
Steve Stultz Band, fireworks.
Raccoon Lake State Recreation Area, July 4
Sponsors met on June 1st and have decided to proceed with the 2020 fireworks display at Raccoon State Recreation Area. The fireworks are scheduled for Saturday July 4th at dusk.
Seelyville Outdoor Recreation Club, Terre Haute, July 11
The Outdoor Recreation Club party with fireworks is scheduled for July 11! Open to the public.
Shakamak Area, July 11
Jasonville Fireworks Show. Fireworks will be at dusk.
Sycamore Winery, Terre Haute, July 11
Enjoy a free fireworks show from Mose Nasser, live music from The MacDaddys, food trucks, wine and Big Leaf brews.
Clay City Fireworks, July 11
Fish fry, homemade ice cream, fireworks.
Fireworks Canceled or Postponed in 2020
Light Up The Landing, Fireworks in Terre Haute. With sadness due to Covid19, The Landing will NOT have their annual fireworks show this year.
Freedom Celebration at New Life Fellowship Church, Terre Haute. This display not be hosted in 2020.
Mill Creek Lake & Park, Marshall, IL. Due to the current COVID 19 restrictions Clark County Board of Commissioners has voted to postpone the 3rd of July celebration until the tentative date of September 5th.
Humphrey’s Park, Linton Freedom Fest. The Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce and the Linton Freedom Festival Taskforce have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Linton Freedom Festival to be held June 29-July 4, 2020.
4th of July Celebration, Covington, IN. Due to Covid-19, they have made the decision to cancel this year’s celebration.
The 4th of July celebration at Sportland Park in Clinton, IN has been canceled.
Due to weather, the pandemic, and other unforeseen factors, firework details can and do change. Please visit original links and check with coordinators before promising a firework show to your family! Haute Happenings can’t be held responsible for inaccuracies, typos, changes, human error, clouds, thunderstorms, or meltdowns from tired children who have stayed up too late to watch the fireworks. (We will, however, commiserate with the meltdowns. We’ll be dealing with them too!)
