Sweet Summertime–Visit the Vigo County Fair

You know it’s officially summer when it’s time for the fair! The 2018 Vigo County Fair takes place July 7th to July 14th.

Visit the Vigo County Fair!

Last year, we popped in one morning to check out (and pet!) the animals. A visit to the animal area is a fun, FREE activity for little ones!

I just took a peek at the official schedule and here are a few things that sound fun for kids and families:

  • Movie under the stars (Ferdinand)
  • Horse and pony show
  • Magic shows
  • Special blocks of time with free rides and admission at the Midway carnival
  • Demolition derby
  • Little Sprouts Learning Day
  • Silly Safaris animal show
  • Fair parade

The 2018 Vigo County Fair will be July 8th-15th. You can find the complete schedule of events HERE.

In addition to the 4H components, the Midway is sure to attract lots of local visitors. According to the fair website, here’s what you can expect in 2018:

“Drew Exposition is famous for providing state of the art thrill rides, honest games of skill, and extraordinary midway food. Whether you visit during the day or night, your experience will be filled with joy, laughter, and fun times. Guests enjoy the smell of freshly popped popcorn and newly spun cotton candy, as well as the sights and sounds of our impressive rides. At night our midway comes to life with millions of computer controlled lights that can be seen from miles away.”

Free parking until 4:00 p.m.

$5.00 per car after 4:00 p.m.

$5.00 per person walk up after 4:00p.m.

For nursing mothers, there will be a lactation station for the comfort of you and your little ones!
