15 Terre Haute Pools, Beaches, and Splash Parks

Hey, hey! We’re glad you landed on Haute Happenings! Since Covid, the pool and water fun situation has changed. We have an updated (2021) guide to local water parks, pools, splash pads, and beaches HERE.

Chances are good that the hot weather is here to stay. Which means you and the kiddos need to find some good places to cool off!

With that in mind, check out our list of places to swim in Terre Haute!

Terre Haute Pools

Vigo County YMCA

The pool at the Vigo County YMCA reopened in 2020!

Country Club of Terre Haute

This pool is open to country club members and their guests.

Terre Haute Campground

Have you been to the Terre Haute Campground (formerly the Terre Haute KOA)? Rent a cabin or campsite and play in the pool!

Indiana State University Fountain

It’s not a pool (and many people would say it’s not intended to be a play place), but many local families love to picnic and play by the ISU fountain!

Deming Park Pool

Deming Pool will open beginning June 1st (weather permitting).  The pool will be open daily until August 6th.  The pool will open on Saturday & Sunday only from August 11-September 2.

The pool will be open from 12:00 pm-5:00 pm Monday-Thursday and 12:00 pm-6:00 pm Friday-Sunday.  The pool will be closed during inclement weather.  There are no refunds for inclement weather.

Season Passes

The season pass allows admittance into Deming Pool throughout the season.

Individual Pass                 $60.00

Family of Four (4) Pass*    $180.00     Additional Children  $15.00 each

*Family pass must include one parent.

Deming Pool Rental

The pool is available to rent in the evenings on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday from June to August.  Pool capacity is 200.

Yogi’s Cafe & Funzone

Yogi’s (formerly Funtime Scuba) in Brazil, Indiana often hosts Open Swim times for members of the public. You can find the times listed on their facebook page. This pool is only open during winter.

Pools and Splash Pads Near Terre Haute

Forest Park Pool

One of the closest pools to visit is the Forest Park Pool in Brazil. The YMCA of the Wabash Valley is excited to take on the management of the popular outdoor pool in Brazil, Forest Park Pool, once again this summer beginning Memorial Day weekend.

Marshall Community Pool

17 miles from Terre Haute is the Marshall, IL Community Pool. A new pool and splash pad recently opened in May of 2019!

Tiger Falls Splash Pad in Paris

Just 22 miles from Terre Haute is the newly opened Paris Splash Park in Paris, IL. It’s FREE and open daily. (Again, since the splash park is in Illinois, the operating hours are listed in central time.) Pelican Cove

This facility opened in May 2016 in Robinson, IL (45 miles from Terre Haute). Pool, slides, and a pirate ship in the splash pad. In 2018, Pelican Cove is open 1:30-7:45 EST with $3 admission.

Turkey Run State Park

Turkey Run (35 miles from Terre Haute) has a swimming pool. The pool is open from 11am to 6pm the Saturday before Memorial Day through no later than Labor Day.

Greencastle Pool and Splash Pad

Greencastle (45 miles from Terre Haute) has both a pool (admission fee) and a free splash pad. The surrounding park features an Olympic size swimming pool with water slide and diving well, the Emerald Palace super playground, picnic areas, lighted ball diamond, and lighted tennis courts. Shakamak State Park

Kids love swimming at the Shakamak State Park pool, which is just 30 miles from Terre Haute. In addition to the State Park entrance fee, the pool cost will be $3 a person and 2 and under are free. For pool operations, all infants, toddlers or small children who are not “potty trained” shall be required to wear an elasticized swim diaper before entering and while using the pool area. Rockville Pool in Beechwood Park

Rockville is 25 miles from Terre Haute. You can find prices and times on the Rockville city website. 

Splash Island in Plainfield

Our family had a blast at Splash Island in Plainfield, Indiana (60 miles from Terre Haute)! We will definitely go back. You can read more about our experience HERE.IMG_12961url

Lieber State Park

We’ve heard that Lieber State Park has a great kids’ area. It’s just 35 miles from Terre Haute via I-70.

Raccoon Lake

If you drive 35 miles from Terre Haute, you can boat, swim, or fish on Raccoon Lake.

Worth the Drive

Fishers YMCA Pool

We loved this pool, splash pad, and kid zone in part because we’re members of the Vigo County YMCA. That means our admission was free thanks to the YMCA reciprocity program! Get excited by checking out details and pictures HERE. 

Brown County State Park

The pool at Brown County State Park has a splash pad, lazy river, and slide (you can read our review HERE).

Pools Closed in 2019

The Landing Pool

Unfortunately, the pool at The Landing is closed indefinitely. A note on their website says that they are looking for candidates who are interested in leasing and running the pool.
