Hurry! VCYSA early bird registration ends on July 15th!
|This post is proudly sponsored by the Vigo County Youth Soccer Association. VCYSA knows that the readers who follow Haute Happenings are involved families who love local events and activities, so the coordinators asked us to help spread the word about the upcoming soccer season. Their sponsorship helps to keep our site free to readers like you. You can help us thank them for their support by telling them you saw this article on Haute Happenings and registering for the 2016 season!
Although I have no stats to prove my theory, it seems to me that most young Vigo County athletes participate in the Vigo County Youth Soccer Association program at some point in time. My brother did. My husband did. Our girls will. I wasn’t an athlete, so I missed out!
In 1978, this program started with just 100 children. If you get the feeling that the program is much bigger now, your intuition is correct. There are now more than 100 teams and almost 1000 players!
One of my dreams is that the program gets to be so big that they start a north/east side branch of the VCYSA. Wouldn’t that be great for those of us on this side of town?! Until then, most of my friends and neighbors happily drive “down south” to participate in this quality program.
