Terre Haute New Year’s Eve Events: 17 Ideas to Help You Ring in 2018

Here comes the jackpot question in advance: what are you doing for New Year’s Eve? If you don’t have a good answer to that burning question, then this post is for you!

Terre Haute New Year’s Eve Events for Kids and Families

  1. Party like it’s midnight at New Year’s Noon at the the Terre Haute Children’s Museum. Since most little ones have trouble staying up until midnight, the museum celebrates at noon! Kids will celebrate just like you do at midnight (well, not JUST like you! There’s no alcohol or smooching at the museum). However, there will be a countdown, ball drop, noisemakers, and a dance party. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., and the celebration is FREE with museum admission.
  2. Want a non-traditional celebration? Why not take the family to the ISU Women’s Basketball game against SIU?
  3. Have a gamer in the family? eBash is having a New Year’s Eve lock-in. Includes gaming, pizza and drinks, and BAWLS Energy Drink to keep you playing until 8 a.m.
  4. Terre Haute Skate World is having a late-night skate! 7 p.m. -2 .m. $15 admission. Noisemakers, hats, countdown to midnight, and skating.
  5. From 7 p.m.- 2 a.m., party at the Wigwam Skating Rink. $15 (plus skates) will get you access to the balloon drop, prizes, giveaways, hats, horns, and noisemakers.
  6. New Year’s Eve is your last chance to go ice skating in Terre Haute! The rink will be open for the last time from 2:00-6:00 p.m.

  7. Want to ring in the new year at home? You can stream a New Year’s countdown any time. If you want to count down to the new year with the kids at 8 p.m., who are we to judge?
  8. If you’re up for a little road trip, you might want to check out the fanfare of the Downtown Indy, Inc’s New Year’s Eve or the more kid-friendly “party” that is a PAW Patrol Live performance.
  9. When you wake up on January 1, start the new year right with a New Year’s Hike at Hawthorn Park. Treats and drinks will be available after the hike. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Jogging strollers are welcomed. Registration Required by 12/29/17. This event has been postponed until the weather is warmer!
