Group activities that exercise mental and musical muscles! 

Brain Games & Story Time Events

FREE, weekly story time at Barnes and Noble. Tuesdays at 6 p.m. for ages 3-6. Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. for ages 6-8. There will be a different theme each week! Call 812-232-2665 with questions.

Tween Book Club at Barnes and Noble. Tweens gather in the Starbucks cafe to choose a book. The next meeting, they discuss! If there’s a film version of the book, they may even take a field trip to screen the movie. First and third Tuesday of the month. 6 p.m. Ages 11-14.

Chess Club. Vigo County Public Chess Club, Room C. Thursdays, 6:00-7:30 p.m. Learn how to play chess or test your skills in a game with an experienced chess player! Open to all ages and skill levels. Call Youth Services for more information, 232-1115.

Tot Time at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum is a FREE (with admission), hands-on, science-based educational program for children ages 2-5 and their caregiver.  Programs will be held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month (exceptions may apply – check website regularly) at 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Kid Cow at Chick Fil A.  Preschoolers (ages 2-4)  participate in crafts and activities centered on the chosen Kid Cow theme. 9:30-11:00 a.m. You can read more about Kid Cow HERE. Dates and themes are as follows:

  • Jan. 8. Kid Cow is all about black and white. Wear black and white!
  • Jan. 22. Kid Cow is all about trains. Read the book “The Little Train That Could”
  • Feb. 12. Kid Cow “Be My Valentine”
  • Feb. 26. Kid Cow is celebrating Dr. Suess’s Birthday. Bring your favorite Dr. Suess book for “show and tell”
  • March 12. Theme to be determined.
  • March 26. Theme to be determined.

Legos at the library. Twice a month on Mondays from 4-6 p.m.
