Cooking Class for Kids in Terre Haute, Indiana

You may remember my love for the Clabber Girl Country Christmas event. For Valentine’s day, Clabber Girl has another family-friendly event in the works–a Valentine’s Day Cooking class for kids!

The class will take place on Wednesday, February 12 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. 

Kids will be working with Chef Brittany Molinder to make:

• Tomato Soup
• Heart Shaped Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwiches
• Strawberry Brownie Parfait with Homemade Whipped Cream

This event is one many ways that Clabber Girl is helping to build into our community and make it a town where we all want to live. Of course I’m on board with this idea!

The recommended age for the cooking class is 6-12. My girls are one and three, so I don’t know a ton of kids in this age range. That’s why I need YOUR help telling families with elementary age kids about this cooking class.

At our house, baking is one of our favorite ways to relax. Beyond that, cooking is a great tool for hands-on learning. The use of measuring tools encourages kids to apply the math skills they’ve learned, follow step-by-step instructions in a recipe, and consider the nutritional components of the food they eat.
