Things to Do in November in the Terre Haute Area

As soon as November hits, the world goes crazy for Christmas.  If you’re planning a winter holiday or Christmas event or activity, send your info! We can’t promote what we don’t know. Basic submission is free!  Add your information via our holiday event submission form. 

In our November calendar, you may see a few holiday events sprinkled in, but most will be found in our 2023 Holiday Guide! (Coming soon!)

Saturday, November 18-November 25.Zorah Shrine’s FEZtival of Trees. Featuring 80+ pre-decorated Christmas trees, complete with pre-wrapped gifts! All sponsored by local businesses, groups and organizations! Raffle Tickets Just $1! Bring your family for food, crafts, fun and enter to win a tree!

Thursday, November 23. Thanksgiving JAM at Davis Park Elementary. 

November 24-26. Bridgeton Country Christmas takes place Nov. 24-26 and Dec. 1-3, 2023. There will be vendors in the 1878 Barn, Artisan’s Barn at the Mill, The Station, and the back of Collom’s store. Collom’s will have chicken and noodles and cobbler, and the Mill serves food as well as their organic stone ground bread and yummy mixes. Santa will be in the 1822 Case Cabin from 1-3 p.m. both Saturdays and Sundays.

Friday, November 24.Parade in BRAZIL, IN. Cookies and hot chocolate will be given away at the courthouse. 8:45pm, a Christmas fireworks in Forest Park.

Friday, November 24. Parade at 7pm. Fireworks after parade in Forest Park (Brazil). Santa House will be open! 

Friday, November 24-December 3. Doughmakers 2023 Christmas Factory Sale

Saturday, November 25. Small Business Bazaar at the Red Barn. Visit 30+ local vendors as you shop for loved ones (or yourself).

Saturday, November 25. November Birthday Party at Willow Gift and Home. 

Saturday, November 25. Sugar Ride Pines Christmas Market. Sugar Ridge Pines will be hosting a Christmas market from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 25, 2023! We will be open at the tree farm in addition to having vendors there. We will be participating in Small Business Saturday that day! Santa will also be making a special visit to the farm! Come join us for a fun filled Saturday

Saturday, November 25. Thanksgiving Parents Night Out at Atreyu Martial Arts. 

Saturday, November 25. Alpacas and friends open barn at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. Come out to the farm and for up-close and personal experience. Farmer Tara will introduce you to our alpacas. You’ll also have an opportunity to meet some of our favorite chickens. Dress appropriately for the weather. Boots or old shoes are recommended. Those attending are asked to meet at the White Violet Farm Store. $6 per person.

Saturday, November 25. Meadows Holiday Vendor Bazaar. Over 100 Vendors inside the atrium! Food trucks and holiday specials!

Saturday, November 25. 2nd Annual Jolly Market at Jolly Pines Tree Farm.

Saturday, November 25. Gnome for the Holidays for Christmas in Paris in Paris, IL. Featuring a lighted Christmas Parade!

Saturday, November 25. 4th Annual Hometown Christmas in BRAZIL, IN. The Clay County Chamber of Commerce and Brazil Main Street invite you to the 4th Annual Hometown Christmas! Local businesses and vendors all across Clay County will be open with special activities. A Scavenger Hunt involving stops at participating businesses will result in BIG prizes. At the end of the day, a Community Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at 5:30pm at City Hall. Celebrate Hometown Christmas with FREE Train Rides from City Hall! Santa arrives at 4pm Hot chocolate will be served courtesy of The Farm.

Saturday, November 25. Holiday Open House with WaterTower Estates Winery. Join on November 25th for Small Business Saturday for our Holiday Open House! Enjoy special doorbuster deals, specialty drinks, gift card deals, & more! Shop during our Early Access hours for even more deals & gifts!!

Saturday, November 25. Family Christmas Mini Walk-ins at The Meadows. Bring the family in for Christmas Photos during the Holiday Bazaar at The Meadows – Terre Haute November 25, from 10am-2pm!

Tuesday, November 28. Pixel Art with Perler Beads at the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 8 & Up: Your child can explore their artistic abilities, hone their fine motor skills, and transform colorful beads into vibrant creations to take home at Pixel Art with Perler Beads.

Thursday, November 30. Run Run Rudolph Christmas Cheer Clinic at Terre Haute North. Your child will be learning a dance that will be performed during halftime at the boy’s basketball game on December 1st.

Saturday, November 4. 2023 Inspiration Gala. The Vigo County YMCA invites you to support our upcoming event on November 4th, 2023 as we fundraise to support children in Vigo County. Our keynote speaker, Laura Burdick, will present “In the Blink of an Eye…”. Laura is a Terre Haute native and graduate of Terre Haute North and the University of Notre Dame. Her inspiring presentation tells the story of her journey from having her life on the right track to facing a challenging future. Join us in making a positive impact on our community!

Tuesday, November 7. Intro to Podcasting at Haute Create (Vigo County Public Library). Ages 14 & Up: Start your own podcast at Haute Studio, a sound booth with the equipment and software you need to create professional-level recordings. In this introductory course, you’ll discuss how to develop ideas for podcasts—from determining a show structure to writing a script—and learn how to use Haute Studio to give your listeners a premiere experience. Everyone will have a chance to practice on the mic and record an on-the-fly podcast with suggested topics. Wrap up your session using PreSonus Studio One 4 to edit clips, add intro and outro music, and include an ad spot.

Wednesday, November 8. Safeguarding your Social Media Presence. Join us for an interactive workshop that will provide small business owners the steps and best practices to proactively secure their social media investment against disasters like hacking, compromised credentials, and account lockouts. Attendees will learn proven strategies for disaster recovery planning tailored to safeguard their Facebook and Instagram accounts. Workshop will include: lecture, Q&A, group discussion, and disaster scenario activities. FREE!

Wednesday, November 8. Sew Simple with Haute Create (Vigo County Public Library). Ages 12 & Up: Repair your clothing, create custom gifts, and save money with Sew Simple! Sew Simple will introduce beginning and inexperienced sewers to setting up and using the sewing machines available in Haute Create by guiding you through an easy craft you will be able to take home.

Thursday, November 9. Stuffed Animal Sleepover at the WEST branch of the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 0–10: From playing games to sharing storytime, your child can only guess what kind of adventures their plushie pal might have when they spend the night at the Library. Let your child drop off their favorite stuffed friend at the West Branch Library anytime before 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 9 then pick them up the next day—along with photos of the activities they enjoyed during their overnight stay!

Saturday, November 11. The Wildflower Christmas Market at the Vigo County Fair. Celebrate Christmas during the 2nd annual Christmas Market! Visit with Santa Claus, face painting and so many other fun things!

Saturday, November 11. Young Eagle Rally at Terre Haute Regional Airport. Kids ages 8-17 can experience a city flight!

Saturday, November 11. Veterans Day Parade in Terre Haute. The route runs down Wabash Avenue in Terre Haute from 4th to 11th.

Saturday, November 11. Honoring our Vigo County Veterans. Join the Vigo County History Center to honor our Veterans! Beginning at the Terminal Public House Restaurant… with a short Terminal Building History tour and lunch for anyone who may want to enjoy lunch on their own. Following lunch there will be a tour of the Veterans Memorial Museum of Terre Haute on 1129 Wabash Avenue. The Veterans Memorial Museum is a labor of love created by Brian Mundell who started collecting military items after his first trip to Normandy in 2004. He became interested in military history at Meadows Elementary School doing book reports on Pearl Harbor and making B-17 and other WW ll airplane models.

Saturday, November 11. Brazilian Nights: Choro Das 3. The THSO welcomes Brazilian phenom, Choro Das 3, to Hatfield Hall on the campus of Rose-Hulman this November! Featuring a talented trio of sisters, audiences will enjoy their lively and soulful performance. Choro Das 3 is also excited to welcome Terre Haute musicians, Solly Burton and Brent McPike.

Monday, November 13. Try This Teens: Knitting. Ages 12–18: Whether you want to add a cozy scarf to your wardrobe or create custom gifts for friends and family, knitting your own items lets you make unique, personalized items and one-of-a-kind pieces! Start building your skills by making a basic coaster in this extended workshop. You’ll learn how to cast a long tail, use a basic knit stitch, and decrease your knit, then take home a set of knitting needles, some yarn, and a beginner-friendly pattern to keep practicing.

Monday, November 13. Intro to Soldering with Haute Create (Vigo County Public Library). Ages 12 & Up: Soldering is a multi-purpose technique that allows you to build electronics, make repairs, and create crafts! In Intro to Soldering, you will pick up this valuable skill and learn how to safely use the Haute Create soldering stations by making your own DIY synthesizer. Customers who wish to use the Haute Create soldering stations independently must complete this class.

Monday, November 13. Auditions for “The Greatest Story Ever Told” at Maple Ave UM Church. 

Tuesday, November 14. Holiday Fashion Dinner at the Terre Haute Country Club hosted by Willow Gift and Home.  Get ready for an unforgettable evening of style, elegance, and holiday cheer! Our “Holiday Fashion Dinner” is the perfect way to kick off the festive season in Terre Haute.

Tuesday, November 14. Crafts with Cricut: Thanksgiving Towels. FREE learning session at the Vigo County Public Library. Customize your kitchen this holiday season with iron-on cutouts created on the CRICUT® cutting machine! Learn how to use CRICUT® Design Spaces to create custom artwork, then let the CRICUT® cutting machine’s fine-point blade precisely cut out the shapes or images you desire. Complete your custom towel by ironing your design onto the fabric.

Thursday, November 16. Clara, Mouse King, and her Magical Nutcracker by The State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine. With a company of over 55 talented dancers, the State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine has received critical acclaim in performances across Europe, India, and Africa.  Their rendition of The Nutcracker is guaranteed to create unforgettable memories this holiday season!

Thursday, November 16. Take an hour for yourself to gain insights into facing the many stresses of the upcoming holiday season. Free to the public! Includes topics such as self care, shared time, festive dining, and making memories. 

Thursday, November 16. Lego Lab at the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 6–11: Challenge your child’s construction skills, teamwork abilities, and creativity at Lego® Lab! Your child can attempt the monthly challenge or build their own designs. At the end of the evening, spend a few minutes touring everyone’s designs and learn how others solved problems in their own builds.

Thursday, November 16. Intro to Laser Cutting at Haute Create (Vigo County Public Library). Ages 12 & Up: Whether you need precision cuts for a project or want to engrave a beautiful sign, learn how to create and format a design for the Dremel LC40 Laser Cutter, then cut or etch your project in Intro to Laser Cutting. Customers who wish to use the Haute Create laser cutter independently must complete this class.

Thursday, November 16. After School Story Break at the WEST Branch of the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 6 –10: Listen as stories come alive with After School Story Break! Your child can enjoy an after-school snack while listening to unique characterizations from their favorite books while you socialize with other parents. After storytime, explore the contents of the book through games and crafts.

Friday, November 17. Mother Son Dance presented by Indiana Best and Merle Normal. 

Friday, November 17. Christmas at Billie Creek Village. Billie Creek will be dressed to impress with lights, wreaths, and special events. Join us daily from November 17 until December 31st. Village buildings will be open each day from 4-8pm to experience the beautiful holiday displays and throughout the village.

Saturday, November 18. Swope Antique Appraisal Fair. Join a team of appraisers from the Link Auction Galleries in St. Louis-including Susan Kime, a frequent contributor on Antiques Roadshow-at the Swope Art Museum for appraisals on fine art, jewelry, porcelain, silver, bronze, furs, decor, toys, and collectibles. The appraisers’ goal is to tell you, country of origin; year made; value; and any additional information they can provide.

Sunday, November 19. Thanksgiving Food Basket Giveaway with Terre Haute Foursquare Gospel Church. Given out on a first come first serve basis. We will give food baskets until we run out of food or 3pm. You must wait your turn in line in person. We do not do deliveries.

Tuesday, November 21. Farm Fresh Citrus Truckload Sale. Terre Haute Menards (North).

Wednesday, November 22. Bingo by the Books at the WEST Branch of the Vigo County Public Library. Gather with your friends and neighbors for refreshments and be ready to shout, “Bingo!” as you play traditional and non-traditional bingo games with the chance to win prizes. Bingo cards and number makers will be provided.
