Happy New Year! December 30-January 4, 2014 in Terre Haute (Featuring First Friday)
|
Happy New Year! Thank you for following along and helping families enjoy living and visiting Terre Haute. You all have been great at helping make this page helpful and up-to-date! There are lots of events I could (and do) miss, so having your help updating the calendar is HUGE! Thank you. Anytime you want to add an event, just click on the little “submit event” tab. Look at the top of the page. See it up there? Easy, right?
On to the fun stuff!
On Monday, Disney’s Planes is showing at the library at 2:30 p.m. Free movie and free refreshments–what a great way to spend a few hours of your child’s winter break!
Adults–don’t miss the Great Gatsby Gala on New Year’s Eve. How swanky! You know you’ve been dying to wear a flapper dress. Silent auction, party favors, a champagne toast at midnight, and a live swing band all at the beautiful Indiana Theatre. Tickets are $50 a person and money benefits the Vigo County Historical Society Museum. Details here.
For the kiddos, there’s the New Year’s Noon event at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum on Tuesday, December 31. There’s a countdown to noon, a parade through the museum, music from the in-house DJ, and hat making. As is this case with so many events at the museum, this one is free with admission.
Make plans to spend some time downtown on Friday for First Friday! Highlights include a FREE Ross David concert at Barnes and Noble at 6:00 p.m. and storytime at the library at 5:00 p.m.
And on Saturday morning, pop into Clabber Girl for the winter market.
