Featured Event! A Night at the Museum: The Eras

Saturday, October 28. A Night at the Museum: The Eras. We’re living our Party Era! Join the Vigo County History Center for the second annual, A Night at the Museum: The Eras. Enter your Halloween Era, dressing to represent your favorite era – or your best Halloween costume. Think Halloween Chic! Tickets include appetizers and entertainment throughout the museum. Cash bar by the Copper Bar. All proceeds from the event allows the History Center to continue to preserve and highlight Vigo County’s rich history.

Saturday, October 28. Holy One Harvest Festival at Faith Wesleyan Church. Holy One Harvest Festival is a fall extravaganza hosted by Faith Wesleyan Church. It aims to bring families and the Terre Haute community together to celebrate the joys of autumn. With an array of free food, game booths, candy, prizes, and hayrides, Holy One Harvest Festival provides an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages.

Saturday, October 28. Haunted Halloween in Deming Park. 7pm to 10 pm. Train rides and hay rides for $4 per person. Snacks, treats, and novelties available for purchase. (Canceled due to weather forecast!)

Saturday, October 28. Fowler Park After Dark. Be afraid, be very afraid and join us for the fourth annual Fowler Park After Dark! On Saturday, October 28th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the VCPRD will be offering a haunted Halloween tour through Fowler Park Pioneer Village! Participants will meet at the Fowler Park Log Barn and will be guided through the village if they dare! Ghosts and ghouls lurk around every corner!

Yes, that is correct, FULL SIZE CANDY BARS! No purchase necessary. Limit 1 per child.

Tuesday, October 31. Drive Through Trunk or Treat with First Unitarian Universalist Congregation. Bring your best costumes and bring the little ones to Trick or Treat here on October 31sh starting at 6pm and ending at 8pm, or until the candy runs out!

Saturday, October 7. Fall Fest at Exotice Feline Rescue Center. Make fall your favorite season with Fall Fest! Come celebrate with us – get your fortune read by a tarot card reader, enjoy delicious food at the food trucks, play games, get creative with craft stalls, and treat yourself with some shopping. As always, tours of the big cats and foxes will run from 10am-3:30pm. And don’t forget – it’s all for a great cause!

Saturday, October 7. Fall Fest at the Vigo County Conservation Club. There will be a costume contest for all ages at 6 pm followed by a Trunk or Treat from 6:30-8 pm. There will be lots of vendors and all kinds of fun games for the children (and adults) to enjoy! Admission and parking are free!

Sunday, October 8. Free movie night at the Moonlite Drive-In! Hotel Transylvania. Showtime at 7:45 pm.

Wednesday, October 18. Halloween Mask Making at the Vigo County Public Library. All Ages: Transform your child’s Halloween look with a unique touch: a stunning handmade mask! Select from a collection of templates appropriate for all skill levels and let your child’s imagination soar while they embellish their mask with markers, crayons, and an array of craft supplies—or assist your little ones as they create the mask of their dreams.

Friday, October 20. Dog Costume Contest with Terre Haute Parks and Recreation. Prizes for most creative, scariest, funniest. $10 for pre-registration. $15 for registration day of the event.

Friday, October 20. Spellbinding Witches class at Makers Studio at Twelve Points. Each 11×14 canvas will be lightly traced to help you follow along. I will take you step by step to create this spooky Halloween canvas. You will receive a free glass of wine or slushy wine drink with your ticket compliments of Water Tower Estates.

Friday, October 20. Fall Festival at World Gospel Church. Food, games, and fun!

Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21. Unhaunted Halloween Happenings at Deming Park from 6pm-9pm. Train rides and hayrides for $4 per person. Snacks, treats, and novelties available for purchase. Free games, face painting, and straw maze.

Saturday, October 21. Happy Mall-O-Ween. Join for the most spooktacular event of the year! Mall-O-Ween is back- Saturday, October 21st from 11am-1pm! Get the kiddos dressed up as their favorite characters. Come make a seasonal crafts and a photo frame for some eek-citing photos. Play haunted BINGO. And yes, there will definitely be some sweet treats while supplies last!

All Ages: Prepare for a thrilling Trunk or Treat with West Branch Library and the West Terre Haute Hometown Holiday Committee! Grab your family’s candy buckets, explore decorated cars and trucks, and collect treats and goodies. Complete your Halloween haul with a free book from the VCPL van. When the clock strikes 7:00 p.m., showcase your costume at the Outdoor Shelter to vie for prizes in the costume contest—whether you’re eerie, imaginative, or adorable! Awards will include best group costume, scariest costume, most creative costume, and cutest costume.

Saturday, October 21. Costume Exchange and Workshop at the WEST Branch of the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 6–19: Are you looking for a show-stopping costume? Dive into the Costume Exchange & Workshop to discover a treasure trove of donated costumes, or let your imagination run wild and create a masterpiece from recycled materials and craft supplies. Do you have a costume to donate? West Branch Library will accept donations beginning Monday, October 2.

Thursday, October 26. Terre Haute Sensory Friendly Trunk or Treat with Unlocking the Spectrum. We’re so excited to be hosting a Sensory Friendly Trunk or Treat in Terre Haute again! This FREE, inclusive event is a great opportunity for children with autism and their families to celebrate Halloween. All are welcome! We hope you’ll join us for a spooktacular time!
