Pick up a Halloween treat you can enjoy all year long while you’re trick-or-treating downtown! Select a free book to take home, take a selfie at the photo booth, and play spooky games.

Friday, October 28. 6-10 pm. Haunted Haute in Downtown Terre Haute. Have a scary-fun time downtown for the annual Haunted Haute Trick-or-Treating! Sponsored by ISU Federal Credit Union, Taghleef Industries, and Burger Chrysler Jeep. Monster Mash Dance Party by 100.7 MIX FM will also be there playing tunes. You’ll experience multiple booths of FREE family fun!

Friday, October 28. Holy One Harvest Festival at Faith Wesleyan Church. Looking for something different to celebrate this October? Come visit our family friendly harvest festival here at Faith Church in Terre Haute, Indiana. The harvest festival will have fun faith themed carnival games for the whole family, we will have free food, hay rides, prizes, candy and so much more. You won’t want to miss this fun fall event.

Friday, October 28. Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein Dinner Theater at Community Theatre of Clay County. Dinner Theater shows will begin serving dinner at 6:30pm. Show to follow usually starting around 7:15pm.

Friday, October 28. Trunk or Treat with First Southern Baptist Church of Terre Haute. Looking for a safe and fun place for your kids this Halloween? Come join us for a night filled with candy, food, hayrides and so much more fun.

Friday, October 28. Trunk or Treat at the Commons at Honey Creek. Put on your favorite costume, grab your trick or treat bag and come meet the residents and team members at The Commons at Honey Creek! Children can trick or treat as our residents and staff will be ready to hand out candy. Celebrate the spooky season with friends and family. All are welcome, fun for all ages!

Friday, October 28. York of Brazil, IN Trunk or Treat

Friday, October 28. Fowler Park Hayride. Join the Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department on Friday, October 28th at Fowler Park from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for family-friendly hayrides! Rides will leave from the Foltz Cabin directly across from the Fowler Park Log Barn. Tickets are $3 per person. This event is open to all ages and includes a brief ride through the Fowler Park Pioneer Village and around the park. 

Friday, October 28. Fowler Park After Dark. On Friday, October 28th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the VCPRD will be offering a haunted Halloween tour through Fowler Park Pioneer Village! Participants will meet at the Fowler Park Log Barn and will be guided through the village if they dare! Ghosts and ghouls lurk around every corner! Directly following the event, we will have a showing of Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) in the field directly adjacent to Shelter A, courtesy of DeeJay Danny Wayne!

Once you’ve solved the puzzle, celebrate your success with an “I Escaped!” photo at the selfie booth, snack on treats, and collect a free book!

Saturday, October 29. 2nd Annual Howloween Walk with Unlimited Pawsibilities at Deming Park. Join us for a spooktacular Howl-O-Ween Dog Walk at Deming Park in Terre Haute! For only $15.00 (plus $5 per additional dog) you and your dog will enjoy meeting new furry friends with a group walk around the park, play on some agility equipment, enjoy a pup cup, and be entered into a drawing to win a Howl-O-Ween basket filled with goodies for your pooch! We encourage puppy costumes!

Saturday, October 29. Trailer Treat and Halloween Party with Outdoor Recreation Club. Trick or treat and then join for food, music, costume contest, and hayride. 

Saturday, October 29. Motorcycles and mummies trick or treating with Cannonball Harley-Davidson. Trick or treating around the shop! Come dressed up and get your photo taken, and with your parents permission we will upload your photo of your spooktacular costume on our Facebook page for others to vote on!

Sunday, October 30. Northside Trunk or Treat.  Bring all of your family and friends and join us for our annual Trunk or Treat. On Sunday, Oct. 30th 5-7pm at Northside Community Church 1075 N. Fruitridge Ave. (across from North High School) Filled with treats galore and a message you just can’t ignore! Games, prizes, music, and so much more! Plus free food will be served! Sure to be loads of fun for the whole family!

Sunday, October 30. Eastside Church of Christ trunk or treat. Finger foods, photo booth, trick or treating. 

Sunday, October 30. Party at The Bridge church from 6-9 pm. Games, inflatables, hot dogs, hot chocolate, and a dunk booth!  

Sunday, October 30. Trunk or treat at Seelyville United Methodist Church. Seelyville UMC will be hosting a Trunk or Treat on Sunday, Oct. 30th from 4:00 – 6:00pm in the SUMC parking lot. Come and enjoy Fun, Games, Goodies, Costumes, Prizes and Fire Trucks!!!! Free fun for the entire family

Sunday, October 30. Trunk or treat and book walk at Memorial United Methodist Church. The children will receive treats from the decorated trunks of church members and preschool staff. This year we will also be offering a book walk featuring Pete the Cat. There will be an opportunity to get your picture with Pete the Cat!

Monday, October 31. Noah’s Ark Night at Open Door Christian Bookstore. Come to The Open Door in your costume any time between 4PM & 6PM to spin the prize wheel for a treat. No tricks, no charge!

Monday, October 31. Terre Haute Foursquare Gospel Church Annual Harvest Party. Join October 31st from 6-8pm for FREE Event. Food, Games, Face Paint, Lots of Candy and so much more.

Monday, October 31. Halloween Night Hike and Campfire at Ouabache Land Conservancy. Candle-lit hike and s’mores around the campfire.

Work alongside like-minded makers and creators, access Haute Create’s array of innovative technology, and receive assistance from a qualified member of Vigo County Public Library’s Tech Team when you need it at the Haute Create Cosplay Co-Op.

Friday, October 7. Brews and Boomsticks Harry Potter Event at Sons’ Spice Co. Sweet and savory pumpkin pasties, a platform 9 3/4 photo op, polyjuice potion, butterbeer, and more! 

Friday, October 7. Green Acres Trunk or Treat. Come join us for an evening of Halloween festivities! Show up to trick or treat or decorate your car and help us hand out candy! We hope to see all the kids dressed up in their favorite characters!

Friday, October 7. Barn Party with Remnant Church. Bonfire, soup beans and veggie soup, cornhole, games music, and more! You can even come dressed in your country attire, but be sure to dress warm! Kids will also have a blast riding the train around the property. We encourage you to bring lawn chairs and even blankets if you’d like.

Friday, October 7. Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Moonlite Drive-In. 

Saturday, October 8. Empathy Builders Halloween. Ages 0–10: Whether it’s because of a monster under the bed or a strange bump in the night, everyone gets scared! With this month’s Empathy Builders, your child will discover how fear is a common emotion—and can even be a little fun—as well as how to manage being afraid. After storytime, practice trick-or-treating with other attendees to prepare for the spookiest night of the year: Halloween!

Wednesday, October 12. Spooktober Teen Movie Night: Twilight. Ages 12–19: High school student Bella Swan doesn’t expect her life to change much when she moves from Arizona to live with her father in Forks, Washington—until she meets a mysterious classmate and becomes embroiled in a supernatural showdown between the Cullen family and a group of nomadic vampires who are threatening her life.

Tuesday, October 13. Halloween Mask Making with the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 6–19: Add a personal touch to your Halloween costume with a custom mask! Choose from paper, feathers, sequins, and other craft materials at one of the mask-making stations. Options will be available for every skill level.

Friday, October 14. Learning Lab: Creepy Crawlies at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum. October is a SPOOKtacular month to head into the Museum and learn about all things creepy and crawly. “Bugs” might be a scary, or even gross word to some but they really are quite fascinating creatures once you learn about them. Come in and get hands-on with some Hissing Cockroaches, take an up-close look at preserved arthropods (the scientific term for “bugs”), make your own spider silk, and eat like an insect!

Saturday, October 15. Food Forest Fall Festival with ISU Office of Sustainability. Learn about sustainable agriculture, pollination, and composting. Join for pumpkin painting, face painting, and making seed bombs! Free admission, free parking, and free t-shirts (while supplies last).

Wednesday, October 19. Create a spooky cloche with cricut and the Vigo County Public Library. Add a little spooky flair to your home décor this Halloween with the CRICUT® cutting machine. Pick from pre-created designs, choose your materials, and learn how to use CRICUT® Design Spaces to send your pattern to the CRICUT® machine.

New moms and community heroes (hospital staff, teachers, first responders, military, and social workers) can shop early on October 20! 

Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22. Un-Haunted Halloween Happenings at Deming Park. Halloween movies and storytime, hay wagon rides, train rides, glow products. Cash only! 

Friday, October 21. Dog Costume Contest with Terre Haute Parks and Recreation. 

Friday, October 21. Teen Monster Prom with the Vigo County Public Library. Ages 12–19: Are you looking for a frightfully good time? Dress up as your favorite character or in a costume of your own design and spend your evening at the Teen Monster Prom with your friends! Dance to the DJ, take selfies at the photo booth, enjoy refreshments, and enter the costume contest. Costumes are encouraged; please leave any realistic weapons at home.

Friday, October 21. Trunk or treat with Vivid Smiles. Come join the fun October 21st 4-6pm in the parking lot of Vivid Smiles. There will be a costume contest, vote on your favorite trunk and get some awesome goodies!

Saturday, October 22. Trunk or treat at the Vigo County YMCA from 2-4pm.

Saturday, October 22. Brewing up a spooky party at Fallen Rock RV Parke and Campground in Brazil, IN. Pumpkin painting, bean dinner, costume contest, trick or treating, campsite decorating contest. 

Saturday, October 22. Halloween party with Terre Haute Skateworld. Food specials, costume contest, mummy wrap, pie eating contest, flat screen TV giveaway. 

Saturday, October 22. Hairy Scary Howl-O-Ween at Aikman Wildlife Adventure in Arcola, IL. Pumpkin bowling, pumpkin ring toss, pumpkin golf, bounce house, animal enrichment with pumpkins! 

Saturday, October 22. Halloween Hunt at the Vigo County Fair Grounds. Think Easter Egg Hunt but instead of Easter eggs we will use Halloween themed containers. Children will hunt in designated areas by age category. 2&3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12. $15 to participate which includes lunch and a craft.
$5 for lunch only.

Saturday, October 22. 3rd Annual Trunk or Treat with VCSC Transportation Department

Sunday, October 23. Trunk or Treat at the Moonlite Drive-in. Hosted by the Jeep Junkies. Followed by FREE showing of Scoob! 

Monday, October 24. 4-H at the Drive-in. Free showing of Casper! Join Vigo County 4-H for a FREE showing of Casper at the Moonlite Drive-in. Come early to learn more about 4-H with Club booths at activities! Gates open at 6:30pm with movie showing at 7:30pm. Everyone is welcome! Find out more about enrolling in 4-H here! Monday, October 24. CASA Trunk or Treat. A night of fun for the whole family! starts at 6pm. Rain date: 10/25. Hot dogs, drinks and popcorn while supplies last! 

Tuesday, October 25. Healthy Halloween Spooktacular. Learn about the importance of a healthy lifestyle at our fun and interactive stations. Join us for all the FUN and wear your best Halloween costume!

Wednesday, October 26. Terre Haute Sensory Friendly Trunk or Treat. Please join Unlocking the Spectrum for sensory-friendly Halloween fun! We’ll have a food truck at the event, and loads of treats. Come in costume or as yourself, we can’t wait to celebrate!

Wednesday, October 26. Pumpkin Decorating Contest at WaterTower Estates with Leadership Connect of West Central Indiana. 

Wednesday, October 26. Spooktober Teen Movie Night: The Addams Family Values with the Vigo County Public Library. When Morticia and Gomez Addams welcome their third child into their home, Wednesday and Pugsley aren’t happy about the new addition and Wednesday is even more suspicious of Debbie Jellinsky, the nanny her parents have hired to help with the newborn son.
