Join Girls on the Run in September! At Girls on the Run, we inspire girls to recognize their inner strength and celebrate what makes them one of a kind. During the 8 week fall season, trained and caring coaches will guide small groups of girls through 16 intentional lessons designed to enhance their social, psychological, and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences and promote essential life skills concurrently with physical activity. Each girl will receive exclusive Girls on the Run materials including an official Girls on the Run program t-shirt, a GOTR water bottle, a program journal, entry to the end-of-season 5K event, and a 5K finisher medal.

Zoom Buggy and Dream Pillow
This class is a place where life’s merry-go-round slows down to let you and your baby share in the magical moments that happen through music and movement. Each week, you’ll dance with your baby, share songs, lullabies and nursery rhymes. Swoosh, vroom and clickety-clack your way through Zoom Buggy and then swirl into a dreamy cloud dance in Dream Pillow.
Milk and Cookies
This joyful, fun-filled class promotes interaction between parent and child while focusing on the toddler’s need for security; balanced with his need for independence. Singing, dancing, story time and instrument play are a part of each class.
Hello Weather, Let’s Play Together!
Children and their families will create delightful home activity projects like making wind chimes, rain hats, sleigh bells and snow boots. Your preschooler will develop rhythm and abstract thinking skills while classes help prepare him for the transition to kindergarten.

Thursday, September 10. Centennial Gala for the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra. The THSO is excited to host a special Centennial Gala fundraiser on September 10, 2026 at O’Shaughnessy Hall at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods to celebrate the Symphony’s 100th Anniversary as the oldest professional symphony in Indiana! Join us for a delectable meal and special concert featuring members of the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra conducted by Music Director Roger Kalia and Principal Guest Conductor & Conductor Laureate David Bowden! The event will take place 6pm-9pm.

Thursday, September 10 and September 24. EdTech Hangul Hunters: Korean for Kids Club. Ages 8–11: From BTS to K-Pop Demon Hunters, Korean pop culture has surged in popularity in the United States. Your child can enter this exciting world with EdTech Hangul Hunters, a club just for kids who want to learn to write the Korean alphabet—called Hangul—explore the culture, and enjoy storytelling.

We are teaming up with Oakley Observatory at Rose Hulman and the Indiana Astronomical Society who are generously providing telescopes for stargazing at Hawthorn Park. Then at 8:30, they are opening their doors free to the public for further star viewing.

Saturday, September 19. Jolly Pines Tree Farm Pumpkin Harvest Market. This is an outdoor open air market to soak up the fall feels, including live music from 10-1pm!! We will have food trucks, homemade fall flavored ice cream that is voted the BEST in INDIANA! Our Flower field is shaped in a new design where you can buy a cup and fill it up with fresh flowers. Our pumpkin patch will be open for those wanting to take a walk to pick their perfect carving pumpkin! We grow specialty pumpkins so if you are looking for all the different varieties and colors, you won’t want to miss this market. We put all the pumpkins out for this market.

Even in Indiana, Native American tribes warned settlers about the “wild man of the forest,” and recorded sightings of this mysterious giant go back to the mid-1800s. But is Bigfoot real?

Wednesday, September 30. Beyond the Bones: The Fascinating History and Science of Body Farms. In the 1960s, forensic anthropologist Dr. William Bass was asked to determine the time of death for a cow during a wave of cattle rustling in Kansas. Unfortunately, there was no scientific literature on the decay rates of large animals, making it impossible for him to reach a conclusion. But the case planted an idea in his mind: to figure out when someone died, he needed to study how decomposition happened over time in nature. Join Indiana State University’s Dr. Charity Taboas to learn how Dr. Bass founded the first official human taphonomy facility, or “body farm”, and what impact this field of study has had on forensic science.

In every session, your child will learn about a unique animal through stories and crafts—and may even get to meet the featured animal.

Wednesday, September 2. Gamers’ Alliance. Ages 6 & Up: Knock your opponents out of the race with a blue shell or take down another fighter with your Smash Ball move at West Branch Library’s Gamers’ Alliance! Friday, September 4. Little Italy Parade at 6 pm–our wonderful Italian Parade will make its way down 9th, Vine, & Main Street. The parade route will begin at the Coal Fountain and end at Elm Street – just west of the festival’s main stage on the river. With entries like the famous Gondola with Re & Regina, and our lovely Queen of Grapes. The parade is definitely a must-see and a great kick-off to a crazy weekend of food, music, and wine.

September 4-7. Little Italy Festival in CLINTON. Free parking all over town! Explore the Festival Grounds filled with food, vendors, activities, and nonstop festival energy. From family fun to late-night excitement, there’s always something happening around every corner. Discover the landmarks and museums that tell the story of Clinton’s Italian heritage. Walk through history and learn about the people, places, and traditions that shaped Little Italy.
