Ages 6 & Up: Today, you can walk into any grocery store or gas station and grab a tasty frozen treat, but ice cream used to be a rare luxury reserved for wealthy households because of the labor and time it took to create a single batch. That changed when two African American innovators reshaped how this dessert was produced and served. See how their ideas still show up in every cone you enjoy as you mix, chill, and scoop your own ice cream.

Wednesday, February 4. The Final Investment: A Murder Mystery Luncheon. CEO invites you to a luncheon on February 4th at The Red Barn that is sure to be killer. Tables, half tables and individual seats are available. There will be 90 minutes of catered meal by Anna’s Hands Soul Food, dessert by Maggie and Moe’s, and a mystery you and your network guests can solve.

Yacht Rock Revue, hailed by Rolling Stone as the “world’s premier soft-rock party band,” invites listeners on a nostalgic voyage through the sun-soaked melodies of the ‘70s and ‘80s. Based in Atlanta, GA, this dynamic ensemble blends impeccable musicianship with a deep reverence for the yacht rock genre. Sarah Bahr of The New York Times reported her firsthand experience of the band’s liberating energy, observing fans who “danced for two hours to tunes from the 1970s and ’80s,” while Entertainment Weekly noted that “the shows tend to be unabashedly joyous affairs.”

This family-friendly event will include a campfire and an easy walk down the old logging road, with an optional mile-long hike. A campfire gathering will be available for those who prefer not to participate in the walk. There are no restroom facilities. Due to limited parking, carpooling is encouraged, and attendees should dress for the weather.

Registration deadline for spring soccer with VCYSA! 

The season is set to begin on April 11th for ALL age groups. 8 games will be played with the season ending on June 6th. No games will be played 4/25, as that is our annual travel soccer tournament. No games will be played 5/23, as that is Memorial Day Weekend.

Game times: 10a, 11:30a and 1p for U10, U12 and U15. Game times will be staggered for U6 and U8 starting at 10a.

Fees: U6, U8, U10, U12 and U15 age groups $120.

Registration closes for both rec soccer and Kiddie Kicks on February 21!

The Kiddie Kicks program is a physical development program that uses a variety of fun soccer-based games to delight and engage kids in physical activity. Each player will attend one 50-minute session/week for 8 weeks. Birth years of 2023 (U3) and 2022(U4) are eligible for this program.

Saturday, February 21. The 6th annual Son Plus Fun One at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum is right around the corner. You won’t want to miss all the fun we have in store this year. We will be hosting a glow party for sons (ages 3-12) and their mothers (or other significant females) on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 6 p.m. The price is $45/couple and additional tickets are $10 each. (Save $5 on Early Bird Tickets available through February 2.) Don’t miss your chance for an evening of play and fun. Ages 3–5: From playing games to sharing storytime, your child can only guess what kind of adventures their plushie pal might have when they spend the night at the Library. Bring your child’s favorite stuffed friend to the Youth Services Department at the Main Library where they will work on a craft, enjoy a bedtime story, and tuck their furry friends in for the night. Pick up your child’s plushie the next day and receive a memory booklet with pictures of the animals’ slumber party shenanigans!
