{"id":6710,"date":"2018-10-10T17:34:25","date_gmt":"2018-10-10T21:34:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nateandrachael.com\/terrehaute\/?p=6710"},"modified":"2019-10-18T09:51:39","modified_gmt":"2019-10-18T13:51:39","slug":"altrusa-chili-cookoff","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nateandrachael.com\/terrehaute\/altrusa-chili-cookoff\/","title":{"rendered":"Chili, Costume Contest, and Face Painting: Join the Spicy Fun at the Altrusa Chili Cook Off!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The coordinators of the annual Altrusa Chili Cook-Off have been tweaking their event planning recipe to make this annual event even more fun for kids and families!<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>This year, visitors can enjoy chili, face painting, a costume contest (and parade to the booths for trick-or-treating) for kids, and a beer garden for parents.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>All children are invited to participate in a\u00a0<strong>Children\u2019s Costume Contest\/ Parade and Trick or Treating<\/strong>. Please have your children meet at the stage at 1:45 p.m. if they would like to participate. The parade will begin at 2pm and prizes will be awarded! Entry is free!<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Doors open at 11am. Stop by and sample chili from over 20 different booths. $1 gets you in the door, $0.50 gets you a sample. All proceeds benefit Altrusa of Terre Haute, supporting literacy in the Wabash Valley.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Schedule of Events:<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>11am-2pm: Chili sampling and live music<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>12pm: Showmanship Judging<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>1:30pm: Chili judging begins<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>11am-2pm: Kid&#8217;s Face Painting<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>2pm: Costume contest for kids<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The event will take place on\u00a0<strong><em>October 27th\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>in a new location \u201c<strong>The Meadows Shopping Center<\/strong>\u201d at 2800 Poplar.<\/p>\n<p>Do you know what you&#8217;re supporting when you attend this annual event?
