Vigo County Public Library Family Fun Night<\/h2>\n

Our community calendar<\/a> is packed with fun for kids and families, yet a lot of the best events (naturally) tend to be scheduled on the weekends. If you need a reason to get out of the house on a weeknight, the Vigo County Public Library has provided you with an excellent monthly destination! {Scroll to the end of the post for upcoming themes!}\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Each month the library highlights a special partnership (such as the library’s work with the Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department) or an interesting library service (like 3D printers) during this program that happens on the second Thursday of\u00a0each\u00a0month at the Honey Creek Mall.<\/a><\/p>\n

This is a drop-in program, so guests can stop by anytime between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

The library hopes that this program encourages family bonding, early learning, and fun.<\/p>\n

Upcoming Family Night Themes<\/h2>\n

Thursday, May 10. 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. It’s always a good time for a story.<\/strong> Create and illustrate your own tale, read a favorite story or even discover a new one. Celebrate National Share-a-Story month with the Vigo County Public Library.<\/p>\n

Thursday, June 14. 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Sign up for our 2018 Summer Reading Program at the Honey Creek Mall!<\/strong> We’ll have activities, art projects, and music-making opportunities for the entire family.<\/p>\n

Thursday, July 12. 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. Did you know we have a Nature Explore certified classroom at the West Branch?<\/strong> We will bring our classroom to the Honey Creek Mall by hosting activities similar to what can be done in that space to promote engagement with the natural world, creativity and family exploration.<\/p>\n

Thursday, August 9 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm.\u00a0Who is your favorite book character?<\/strong> Explore famous children’s book characters like Harry Potter, Curious George and the Very Hungry Caterpillar through games, art projects and puzzles.<\/p>\n
