Below freezing temperatures, holiday movies, and hot chocolate are all great reasons to grab your slippers, stay in your pajamas, and snuggle on the couch. But I’m not the kind of person who can stay inside for long. I feel twitchy if we don’t get out of the house every day! With that in mind, here are nineteen reasons to bundle up and leave the house over winter break.<\/p>\n

These local\u00a0activities will keep your family occupied throughout winter break!<\/h2>\n

The Nature Center at Dobbs Park is holding craft time open house <\/a><\/strong>from 10:00 am-4:00 pm on December 26-29.\u00a0 For questions call 812-877-1095.\u00a0Cost varies depending on craft. Stop by the nature center and make a craft or two. Several crafts will be available to choose from. All materials are supplied.<\/p>\n

Take a drive through Deming Park and enjoy the decorated shelters with\u00a0Christmas in the Par<\/a>k.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Navigate your way through all of the various activities which include experimenting with different recipes for making fake snow, and using playdough to practice your cookie-making skills. Let your kids with “Elf Games”<\/strong> at the Terre Haute Children’s museum from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. on December 26-29.\u00a0 Free with museum admission or membership!<\/p>\n

Lace up your skates and join the fun during Winter Break Day Skate at Terre Haute Skate World<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0from December 26-January 4.\u00a0Admission is $2.50. Skate rental extra.<\/p>\n

Visit “Boats on the Ceiling” exhibit at the Swope from local artist Rachel Hellmann through December 30.<\/p>\n
