We want your Thanksgiving week to be filled with\u00a0family, food, and gratitude. We wish you laughter, too much turkey, and a good night’s sleep. Since Vigo County students have the entire week off for Thanksgiving, we hope you can squeeze in a little\u00a0“fun” too!<\/p>\n

  1. The Terre Haute Children’s Museum will have special hours<\/strong> throughout Thanksgiving week. See their schedule here.\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. If we’re lucky, the Moon-Lite Drive-In Theater will host special movie showings<\/strong> the week of Thanksgiving! Check their facebook page for updates.\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n
  3. There are three holiday parades<\/strong> happening over break–Santa’s arrival parade at the Honey Creek Mall, the Christmas in Paris parade (in Paris, IL), and the Christmas in the Park parade in Brazil! See our complete list of holiday parades HERE.\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n
  4. How about a little live theater?<\/strong> There are three chances to watch\u00a0The Sound of Music<\/em> at Terre Haute South Vigo High School <\/a>and\/or you could watch High School Musical <\/a>with Terre Haute Children’s Theatre!<\/li>\n
  5. Get moving<\/strong> with the\u00a0Terre Haute Turkey Trot <\/a>or the\u00a0Wobble Before You Gobble.\u00a0<\/a>Workout before you pig out, and go beast mode before you go feast mode.<\/li>\n
  6. If you’re up for a little drive, Christmas in Paris<\/strong><\/a> will have a lighted parade, a free showing of Miracle on 34th Street, story time with Mrs. Claus, petting zoo, and a free ice skating rink!<\/li>\n
  7. Leave the kids behind so you can get ahead on your holiday shopping!<\/strong> Send the kids to\u00a0Reuse and Recycle at Kids’ Night Out at the Vigo County YMCA o<\/a>r\u00a0Parent\u2019s Night Out at Eduplay<\/a>. <\/a>PNO is 5 hours of child care, pizza, crafts, and movie time.<\/li>\n
  8. Hungry for food?<\/strong> Join the\u00a0completely FREE Community Thanksgiving Dinner<\/strong>.<\/a> Bring the whole family. Feel free to invite friends, family, and neighbors!<\/li>\n
  9. Hungry for knowledge?<\/strong> Join\u00a0Learning Lab: Weather for Home-school children<\/a>– Stormy Summer at Terre Haute Children’s Museum, the\u00a0Nature Program for Preschoolers<\/a>\u00a0at Deming Park or the\u00a0WVAS: Jr. Birder Patch Program<\/a> at Dobbs Park.<\/li>\n

    Okay, my final\u00a0count tells me we actually ended up with a few extra\u00a0ways\u00a0to have an awesome Thanksgiving week. I guess that means there are at least a dozen\u00a0reasons to be THANKFUL we live in the Wabash Valley!<\/p>\n
