Just because school’s out in the summer doesn’t mean the learning stops! The low-pressure days of summer are a great time to gently boost your child’s academic strengths and weaknesses. The best part? These local camps are so fun kids might not even realize they’re learning!\"\"<\/p>\n

Featured Camps: Summer Science Camps<\/a> from the Terre Haute Children’s Museum<\/h3>\n

Summer is supposed to be fun., and at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum, campers will have the messiest summer EVER!

Whether you’re looking for space, engineering, cooking, animals or more, The Terre Haute Children’s Museum <\/a>has a session for you! And, they will all be MESSY!
\n\"\"<\/p>\n

They have camps designed for ages 4 – 6, 7 – 9, & 10 – 13!<\/p>\n

Campers will gain confidence and feel as if they rule the Museum after spending time with their highly-trained staff. Each day is scheduled to maximize learning time, while also giving campers that chance for independent play, time on the Ropes Challenge Course and more!<\/p>\n

Summer Stem Adventures <\/a>at Rose-Hulman Institude of Technology<\/h3>\n

Qualified applicants from Vigo County high schools can attend Operation Catapult, Project SELECT, and Rose Power with our partners at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology at no cost!<\/p>\n

\nProject Select <\/strong>(for students currently in grades 9-10): A one-week immersive science and engineering camp for students who want to gain greater awareness of STEM fields through hands-on experience. And, you\u2019ll meet plenty of like-minded friends who love STEM as much as you do.<\/p>\n

Operation Catapult<\/strong> (for students currently in grades 10-11): A 12-day program that lets you experience college life, meet new friends, dive into STEM projects and basically have a blast using all the knowledge you\u2019ve gained in school.<\/p>\n

Creation Crates<\/strong> (for students currently in grades 10-11): This is a one-week experimental engineering design-at-home program, which was inspired by an actual mechanical engineering course.<\/p>\n

Rose Accelerate<\/strong> (for grades 11-12 and eligible first-year college students): Expand your knowledge by taking core college coursework online this summer and earn credits toward your Rose-Hulman degree.<\/p>\n

Rose Power<\/strong> (for rising 10th through 11th-grade girls and boys): A one-week, hands-on, technical camp that will empower you to build any widget or gadget you can imagine.<\/p>\n

University Connections from Vigo County School Corporation (FREE!)<\/h3>\n

During select weeks in June, students in grades 2-5 can attend University Connections<\/a>. <\/strong>Free of charge! Registration closes on May 1. University Connections is an in-person summer adventure, offered to students currently in grades 2-5, free of charge. The nine-day program at Indiana State University (ISU) is from 8:00 a.m. \u2013 4:00 p.m. University Connections programming will also include IREAD remediation for grades 2 and 3.Transportation will be provided to and from each student\u2019s home school. (*Please note if your place of employment or home is closer to a different elementary school, rather than the one your student attends, our team will accommodate this request. This can be indicated in the transportation drop down selections below, and we understand the morning and afternoon bus transportation locations could be different).<\/p>\n

Jump Start from Vigo County School Corporation (FREE!)<\/h3>\n

Jump Start <\/a>is for students going into kindergarten through 2nd grade.<\/p>\n

This FREE opportunity will provide students the chance to strengthen their academic skills, along with the chance for incoming kindergarten students to acclimate to the school setting prior to the start of a new school year.<\/p>\n

This program will be offered Monday, August 3, 2026 through Friday, August 7, 2026 from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Transportation will be provided within the student’s home school district.<\/p>\n
