As a stay-at-home-mom\u00a0with two young kids, Tot Time at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum is part of my regular routine and a\u00a0vital part of our preschool-at-home experience.<\/p>\n

If you’re on the list for Tot Time updates and emails, you may have\u00a0seen\u00a0the face of our\u00a0youngest daughter in\u00a0the newsletter. Of course she was there on the day the museum was taking pictures. She’s almost always there! \u00a0In fact, we’ve been attending for the past 3 1\/2 years.<\/p>\n

Register for Tot Time via the museum’s website.<\/a><\/h3>\n

\"Tot<\/p>\n

Tot Time\u00a0takes place twice a month and is for preschool kids ages 2-5. (Parents\/nannies\/grandmas, you’re invited too! In fact, there’s a required adult to child ratio of 1 to 3.)\u00a0The program\u00a0usually includes coloring, story time, and a hands-on activity related to the week’s theme and story.<\/p>\n

Tot Time is\u00a0usually held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month (exceptions may apply – check website regularly) in the morning.<\/p>\n

\"Preschool<\/p>\n

In the past, we’ve\u00a0made slime, designed straw airplanes, and conducted countless\u00a0bubbly, fizzy, and colorful\u00a0science experiments.<\/p>\n

\"Science<\/p>\n

Tot Time often gives my girls the chance to enjoy\u00a0messy sensory and science\u00a0experiences that I might not take the trouble to do at home. Our girls love making slime, watching “elephant toothpaste” erupt, and mixing colors, but do I really want to make that kind of mess in my kitchen? At home,\u00a0I don’t have easy-to-clean plastic tables, lab coats, goggles, or a patient museum staff member who walks around and lends a hand as needed. In this way, the “messy science” portion of the Tot Time experience has been invaluable to\u00a0our family.<\/p>\n

\"Programs<\/p>\n

Tot Time is included with your\u00a0museum admission (which means it’s FREE for museum members).<\/p>\n

So why has it taken me this long to tell you all about Tot Time? Honestly, it’s because I’m selfish. You have to register in advance, because\u00a0space is limited. If I do too good of a job promoting Tot Time, there might not be room for my girls! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
