On most Saturdays in summer, you can find our\u00a0little family at the Downtown Terre Haute Farmer’s Market. We bike downtown, hang out at my parents’ stand<\/a>, listen to the live music, climb trees, color the sidewalk with chalk, run around with friends, and check out the latest market goodies. The market is one of the things that make us proud to be Hauteans. The food is fresh, the prices are good, and the company is top notch.<\/p>\n

If you love the market too, one way you can show your support is by attending this year’s Farm to Fork event. The ticket price covers some of the meal expenses, but the rest goes to help fund the operating cost of the market.\u00a0While the local\u00a0farmers do pay vendor fees, it does not cover all expenses. The Farm to Fork dinner will help with shortfalls and fund our long-term goals like acquiring a system to accept credit\/debit cards and EBT at market. That sounds awesome to me! By attending the Farm to Form dinner, you are helping to\u00a0ensure that fresh, local food is available here in Terre Haute.<\/p>\n

So what’s on the menu? Good question! But it’s one only Mother Nature can answer.\u00a0Chef Kris Kraut (from The Butler’s Pantry<\/a>) will craft a menu\u00a0based on the produce that is available,<\/span><\/span>\u00a0farm fresh meats, and artesian baked goods<\/span><\/span>. All foo<\/span><\/span>d will be fresh and local from <\/span><\/span>the Farmers’ Market with vegetarian<\/span><\/span> and vegan<\/span><\/span> options.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And while the food and company are surely enough to draw a crowd, there will also be a silent auction (starting at 4:00 p.m.) and live entertainment from young, local talent–the Coon Holler Kids<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The dinner begins at 5 p.m., and the festivities will end around 8 p.m.<\/p>\n
