I want to kick off this week by highlighting a specific venue–the Indiana Theatre<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Much to the amazement and delight of Hautians who have fond memories of the Indiana Theater, it has been recently restored. This historic theater is now set up for weddings and rehearsal, live theater, recitals, company parties, and (of course) screenings of movies on a very big screen.<\/p>\n

This weekend, you (and me and our kiddos) are invited in to see how it has changed and to make the most of the last few days before Christmas in the process with the Very Merry Indiana Christmas event.<\/p>\n

Santa’s Reindeer Games<\/h2>\n

Starting at 11:00 a.m., families can pop into the theater for Santa’s Reindeer Games. For $5 per person<\/strong>, you can play games, decorate ornaments, wrap toys for Toys for Tots, listen to your favorite holiday stories, and watch classic Christmas cartoons. \u00a0At noon, you can watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas<\/em>. Frosty the Snowman<\/em> is on at 1:00. And Rudolph will light up the silver screen at 2:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

For me, this sounds idyllic. \u00a0Could there be a better place to share with your children the Christmas cartoons that characterized your childhood than at the Indiana Theatre? I think not!<\/p>\n

In the evening, Terre Haute gets classy. Don’t laugh. I’m serious! I think a delicious Italian dinner (from Louise’s) followed by a screening of It’s a Wonderful Life<\/em> sounds very classy. As in, it might be enough of an occasion to convince me to put on makeup and pants without an elastic waistband. \u00a0$30 per person will get you dinner and the show. $5 per person will get you into the movie.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There are two sessions. For the first one, dinner (a buffet) starts at 5:00 p.m., and the movie starts at 7:15. For the second session, dinner is at 8:00 p.m., and the movie starts at 10:15. Call the theatre at 812-232-8076 to make your reservation.<\/p>\n

You’ll have to buy your own dinner tickets, but I can help a few of you out with movie tickets. TWO people are each going to win TWO tickets to It’s a Wonderful Life<\/em>.
