In the 1940s, Folks would visit the 12 Points area for festivals, movie theaters, dancing schools, dress shops, and candy treats. But most people today know 12 Points only as a place in need of life support. Sure, people have tried to revitalize it. Once upon a time, the dream was that 12 Points would turn into something like Broad Ripple in Indianapolis.\u00a0But in July 2014, Jay Jones (the owner of the infamous 12 Points hotel) made plans to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.indianaeconomicdigest.net\/main.asp?SectionID=31&amp;ArticleID=75468\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">auction off the property and abandon his dreams<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily,\u00a0there\u00a0are a few optimistic\u00a0business owners who haven&#8217;t given up on the area.<\/p>\n<p>Let me introduce you to three new \u00a0fun, kid-friendly destinations that will make you glad that there&#8217;s still hope for 12 Points.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nateandrachael.com\/terrehaute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/08\/12-points.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1054\" src=\"http:\/\/nateandrachael.com\/terrehaute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/08\/12-points.jpg\" alt=\"12 Points Terre Haute\" width=\"807\" height=\"673\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nateandrachael.com\/terrehaute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/08\/12-points.jpg 940w, https:\/\/nateandrachael.com\/terrehaute\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/08\/12-points-300x250.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 807px) 100vw, 807px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Jimmy&#8217;s Gelato<\/h2>\n<p>Let&#8217;s lead with the place that&#8217;s sure to be a hit with the kids. Who am I kidding? It&#8217;s my favorite too! GELATO is yum. Although flavor choices vary by day, some options you might find are vanilla bean, peanut butter cup, pistachio, baklava, mango, blackberry, and macadamia nut. Baklava gelato?! Why? It&#8217;s a Kosher deli with such tasty offerings as &#8220;upside down coffee,&#8221; freshly baked breads, pies, and pastries, and lasagna soup.
