Road Trip! Horsin’ Around Natural Valley Ranch

As you may remember, our family visited Hendricks County in July. One highlight of our trip was  a morning spent at an awesome water park just an hour from Terre Haute! You can read all about our adventures at Splash Island HERE.

While my water babies were thrilled to splash around the water park, the outing that has been talked about the most was the afternoon we spent at Natural Valley Ranch in Brownsburg, Indiana.

Review of Natural Valley Ranch in Brownsburg

The setting at Natural Valley Ranch is idyllic. While there are wooded trails to ride and explore, our girls were content to hang around the barn.Review of Natural Valley Ranch

Our guide (a college student who was equally good with both kids and horses) introduced us to (and let us pet) the pigs, ducks, kittens, goats, and horses.

The main feature of our Natural Valley Ranch experience was, not surprisingly, the guided pony ride.

Even our toddler (almost two at the time) got to ride! (Don’t worry–Daddy walked beside her!)

Our three-year-old loved that she had the chance to complete a little kid-friendly obstacle course while riding. It involved little challenges like tossing a ring on a coin and dropping rings into a mailbox.

I would love to go back and spend a night or two in the cottage at Natural Valley Ranch. With 4 bedrooms and 4.5 baths, this would be a great place for a family reunion or a weekend getaway with friends. If you’re meeting up with families from Indy, this would be a great place since the location is convenient to both Indy and Terre Haute! You can find the rental information on VRBO.
