Bookworms & Brainiacs: Stories and Science

Homeschool Thursdays at Terre Haute Bricks 4 Kidz. 11 a.m. -12 p.m. The session fee is $48.00 and will run for 6 weeks (skipping over any holidays). You may enter a 6 week session at any time and your session fee will be prorated.

Preschool Mommy & Me/ Daddy & Me classes on Wednesdays at Terre Haute Bricks 4 Kidz. 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Includes story time, a guided build using Duplo blocks, and free play time.

Tot Time at the Terre Haute Children’s Museum. FREE (with admission) hands-on, science-based educational program for children ages 2-5 and their caregiver.  2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month (exceptions may apply – check website regularly) at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m.

Kid Cow at Terre Haute Chick fil A. Preschool program offered the second Thursday of each month from 9:30-11. Complete list of themes coming soon. Read our review here. FREE.

Toddler Time with Mother Goose at the Marshall Public Library. Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. IL time. 30 minute program. FREE.

Little Book Beginnings (for preschoolers) at the Marshall Public Library. Third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. central time. FREE.

 

Creative Kids and Little Muscians

Paint Parties by Robyn Michelle. No experience necessary. Enjoy step-by-step instructions as you create your masterpiece and leave with a new-found talent. Enjoy hours of socializing and creating. We hold several Paint Classes a month at Grand Traverse Pie Company. There will be several fall themed classes from Sept to Nov.   • September 18 and 29. October 8, November 7, 20: Classes for ages 12 and up. $35.
  • October 24 and November 21: Classes for kids ages 4-12. $25.

Art Start at the Swope. Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Young artists are invited to experience art through books and related art projects for children ages 3 to 5, accompanied by an adult. FREE. (At the former Halcyon Gallery)

Second Saturday Studio. Second Saturday of the month. 1-3 p.m. Artists of all ages will explore themes from special exhibitions and the Swope’s collection through a variety of creative endeavors. FREE. (At the former Halcyon Gallery)

Browne Music School. Musikgarten preschool music and movement classes. Students will sing, dance, play instruments, and create music. Classes taught by Dr. Lynette Browne, early childhood music specialist. Browne Music School will be offering a FREE ten-week class for young kids (ages 1-4) on Tuesdays from 6:15-6:45 p.m. Space is limited so please register online.

Karie Sutton Music School. Mondays starting September 14.

  • Mixed age group for families of 18 months-5 year olds will meet from 10:00-10:30 am
  • Babies class for families of 0-1 year olds will meet from 11:00-11:30

Community School of the Arts Youth Orchestra. Students 5th-12th grade.

Guitar Club. Students are given the opportunity to learn songs, all while building a connection with rhythmic, melodic and harmonic ideas. As students gain more confidence in and dedication to their practice, they are able to take one-on-one lessons with trained instructors. Ages 6-16.

STEAM Integrating S.T.E.M. Into the Arts. Ages 5-12. To be successful in technical fields, individuals must also be creative and use critical thinking skills which are best developed through exposure to the arts. In this class, students will learn and build upon existing drawing, painting, and sculpting skills while integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (S.T.E.M.).

Movers & Shakers: Sports Teams and Active Classes

Skating at the Wigwam. Thursday Dollar Night, Friday’s After Dark, Saturday’s Kid Fun, and Sunday Family Discount Day.

Upward Sports. Basketball and cheerleading in fall. Indoor winter soccer. Ages 3-8th grade. Boys and girls.
